have you tried this- sending gallery traffic straight to the join page?
 

i've seen this occasionally, pretty slick if it's a well-done sign-up page.

We are coming up with a new gallery builder that will allow this and more with crakcash... I really can't wait to release this ;)

Depends a bit how the galleries are built. Some galleries are built like a tour and thus linking to the join works best.

More than a few galleries won't accept submissions like that.

We do it and it works.
