All SF Bay Area adult industry people are invited to a kick-off adult biz meet-up, being held this coming Wednesday (June 8th) in downtown San Francisco.

DATE: Wednesday, June 8th, 2011
TIME: Starting at 6'ish until 8'ish

The purpose of the meet-up is primarily to network, but also to determine if there is interest in creating a regular meet-up to exchange ideas, share resources, and set-up a support network and information clearinghouse specific to Bay Area people in the adult industry.

So gather up a handful of business cards, think about what you want to share with the group about your business, and brainstorm and bring your ideas and suggestions about what you want the group to evolve into.

This is going to be an excellent start to a great networking month in June. This BayArea Meet up, Xbiz Summit, and Ynot Summit. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Any Q's or ideas feel free to hit me our ADG up.

I don't think so, since it is aimed at local industry people, some of whom will be attending the YNOT Summit, and others whom will not. While Rochard is local (the Bay Area encompasses a large region), it would be a 2 hour commute each way for him to attend, so I understand his reasoning.

The adult industry in the Bay Area is much larger, and more diverse, than most of you may think. I'm sure that many people who participate will have never heard of GFY (so you might be seeing some more new GFY people in the months to come with SF as their location).

Since you brought it up, I've talked to Jay at YNOT about a "Summit Special" of some sort for meet-up attendees, so it might behoove local people to attend the meet-up on Wednesday night if they can to check it out. :winkwink:

The event is being promoted through various channels, and the response has been good so far, so I expect a decent turnout.

The Bay Area had a similar group back in the late 90's, that I participated in a little bit, and it was very helpful to me in my early days in the adult biz, so I am hoping that we can create a new group which can be of service to the local adult community.

What it becomes will largely be shaped by the individuals that will be participating...so if you want to have a voice, get involved... :thumbsup

The idea of such a local support group has been percolating for some time, so I simply took the initiative to at least get things kicked off...

Ideally, the group can settle upon a recurring date (i.e., 2nd Wednesday of each month), however in any case, future notices will be sent out further in advance.
