I don't care for Pit Bulls .....
But thought this was an interesting article .....
"not so long ago, pit bulls were brought in as "nanny dogs," the trusted caretaker pups to watch over kids" http://beta.news.yahoo.com/blogs/ups...195612543.html . |
We have one and she is a fine dog. I'll probably have pits for the rest of my life. Unfortunately any idiot with $50 can get his hands on one and those idiots fuck it up for everyone else.

Dont blame the dog, blame the owner

It's funny, I have a friend with a nice house in the country. He has a German Shepard and a Mastiff, 250 pounds of pure muscle. I have a 15 year old mutt with limited mobility that I protectively let run with them. I say protectively because I worry about her hurting herself playing. Her being attacked I never think about.
If he had a pit bull, a much smaller dog, I would keep her in the truck. In the back of my mind I would worry too much ...... Unfounded concern? Maybe, but there it is. |
If you do not have a dog, or have one of those small shitty dogs. One thing you will not know is that bad dogs are bad owners. Dogs do what they are taught and act like the people they are around. They treat like the are treated.
Most of the bad "pit bulls" come out of homes of people that mistreat them, teach them to be violent etc. Anyone can get a pit pull these days. There are in all the pounds, shelters and humane societys so they cost basically nothing to get. Not like other breeds. So basically anyone can get there hands on them. I have had 2 and they are the greatest dogs. With the sweetest tempermants. I know many more people who have been bitten by german shepards then i do people who have been bitten by pitbulls. |
I don't care for Pit Bulls either...

Pit bulls in the wrong hands are dangerous. A lot of people who shouldn't own a fucking hamster get these dogs and don't know the first clue how to raise a dog.
They need a lot of work: i.e. attention, exercise, obedience training etc and if they do not get it they can be dangerous. I personally wouldn't own one because of their aggression, inherited temperament, and the shit backyard breeding practices. and 2) they are a huge liability. Now I'm sure a Chihuahua would attack you before a pit bull would, but at least with a Chihuahua attack you do not end up maimed or in a body bag. |

I read recently that the dogs that are the two biggest biters as far as total number of bites are German Shepherds and Chow's. With the Shepherds it is likely because they are very popular and there are ton of them. Still, if I had small kids I would never get a Pit Bull. Training it is one thing, but if the dog snaps and decides to bit it can do some real damage. |
I should have clarified that. I meant their aggressiveness to other animals.
Pit bulls were never bred to attack humans, but they were to attack and fight other animals . Quote:

I fucking hate dogs:/

i have seen all kinds of dogs in the hands of idiot owners who turn aggressive.
the most scared i have ever been was when this stupid bitch was walking her pitbull down the road one day, and as i walked by them it just lunged at me in total kill mode. she had it on a leash, but it almost knocked her down and she was 250lbs of pure white trash fat bitch. i told her she had no business owning that dog and continued to back away the whole time it was trying its best to get at me. i was planning to kick the thing as hard as i could in the face and throat but was worried cause once they get on you, the only way to get a dog in full attack is to kick it in the throat as hard as possible, and if you miss it is going to bit the fuck out of you before you can gouge its eyes out or something. pit bulls and other dangerous dogs are scary as fuck we had german sheperds growing up...good dogs but also scary as hell for some people. my friend once roared up onto our property on his sled and jumped off in full snowmobile gear, the dog lunged at him cause he looked like a space man...he jumped over his sled and she took a chunk out of the seat. once he took his helmet off she was all fun and games again though. big difference |

Too friendly with people - she would probably lick someone to death rather than bite them. She is OK around children and very tolerant of being poked but there's no way I would leave her around kids unsupervised. |

http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html You will find that you ain't so fuckin' smart. You will find that your beliefs are just that; beliefs which are unfounded and heavily influenced by media hype. You will find that you need to (But won't, I'm sure!) re-assess your fondly held beliefs. One of the most well-known and most dangerous pit bulls in history: http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/m...eandlittle.gif Every child depicted in the above image is of course now DEAD, most likely because of their association with the DREADED PIT BULL shown with them. |
|
I had issue with Pitbulls at one time, but not any more. There is a good chance my next dog will be a Pit, and this is with small kids.
I would leave any dog with a child unsupervised. That's just commonsense. The first time our Chihuahua took a nip at one of the kids, he moved in with my grandma. |

You are always such a fucking cunt. I just posted a flattering article about the breed. I also don't care for collies, cocker spaniels, poodles, boxers, bull dogs and a few other breeds. This has nothing to do with being smart you old cross-dressing retard. It's personal preference. I don't hate them, I'm not afraid of them I just prefer other breeds. You on the other hand I really do hate and wish nothing but the absolute worse for. And I haven't even met you. What does that say for your fucked up abrasive personality. . |

every dog is a fine dog, no matter what. |
purebred pits get a bad rap from cross breeding with other breeds and those that train them to be mean. A purebred pitbull has been bred to be extremely friendly to people and with mine he was raised with two other breeds of dogs and he has got to be the sweetest, friendliest dog I have ever own to both people and other dogs
when it rains we call him 'shakes' cuz he hides under desks and shakes like a vibe. |

Any of those dogs that show aggression towards a human should be put down on the spot. Period. |
Starting a Pitt Bull thread here is like tying to cats together and throwing them over a clothes line.
|
I love my pitt, she's a great girl but I did put a whole bunch of time into making sure she's a good dog. The one bad thing is she likes to lick and it drives me batshit crazy.
|
Not fan of Pit Bulls either.I have also two dogs at home but my parents take care about them.I give my love on some other inportant thing.Cats r my favourite
|
My parrot has bit me more than any pet dog that I've owned. But the parrot has 10x the personality and he actually is very lovable, but he's a parrot and they bite sometimes. I dont let kids get near him. He thinks he is 20x bigger than he actually is.

EVERY ANIMAL I HAVE OWNED has starved to death in my back yard, cause I cant be bothered to feed it... Glad you feel the same :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:2 cents: |

I know there are tons of pits that never to anything and the breed has a bad rep that might be undeserved, but for me I would never take the chance just in case. After all, it is an animal so you can never be 100% sure. |
