Have you watched HBO's Game Of Thrones yet?
 

Damn I just watched the first 7 episodes over the weekend and I have to say I'm hooked. It's edgy like Spartacus, but with leanings towards Lord of the Rings. Sex, medieval violence, and possibly dragons.

It doesn't get much better than that.

The first 7 episodes are sitting in the VOD section of Shaw Cable. Like I said I watched them at my leisure over the weekend, but now I'm left hanging. HANGING!

Pillars of the Earth was a pretty good series too, but this takes things to a greater level than that... more sex, the violence is far more graphic, and here there be dragons. Well, I think here there be dragons, there certainly is a lot of hinting going on about them anyway. And there's midget sex, incest (twin brother-sister no less), a couple of beheadings, an eye popping out of a guy's head, a dagger through another one's eye, a couple of whores do a nice lesbian scene on a bench, and a stupid kid who won't listen to his mother get's slapped out a window leading to the surprise of his life. ha

Yep, I'm definitely hooked.

It's one of the few times a series is actually better than the books. Martin is a great 'world creator' but his dialogue is not so great and the screen writers did an excellent job of improving it for him.

The casting is simply brilliant. If that midget doesn't get an Emmy (or at least half an Emmy) he got robbed!

My favorite show on cable right now by far.

Yep, Game of Thrones comes in hitting hard, in the first 5 minutes you're hooked.

That little dude rocks. His has rapidly become one of my fav characters.

Just watched the first 3 this weekend loved it!

Peter Dinklage(the midget) has been in several great movies and was awesome in Threshold.

I see episode 8 is on tonight. Wee!

Arrg, I'm on vacation in NW Ontario this week and won't be able to catch episode 9 until way into next week.

Yep, that movie made me to buy the books. I'm reading it now the first one Game of Thrones. As I read on their site, there will be second season. I wonder if they call the second season "Clash of Kings" , or they'll proceed with Game of Thrones, season2.

That little midget is an excellent actor, I've seen several movies featuring him, in very different genres and he always steals the movie. And yes, the girls are very hot, Daenerys is teh hotnezz, but I love Lena Headey (the Queen) since the first time I saw her :)

Believe me, I thought Chapter 9 was the last of the season and I was like "WTF, how will I wait a year to see how this continues?" :1orglaugh

And as for the dialogue, it's almost word for word. Unless it's been totally removed.

Lame comparison... 24 was pretty much about Jack.. Sean bean was just one character, one storyline in a series that has many storylines and characters. There is NO main character in GOT.

That ending....Holy fucking shit!!!!!

Ending was awesome. If you read the books you knew what was coming. Next season is going to be when all hell starts breaking loose, and it will only get crazier from there.

I knew we'd get dragons. This show is going to be sick in the coming seasons.
