Why aren't you using Plugrush?
Just curious as to why some of you aren't using plugrush. I can understand if you handle your trades automatically, but with our widget, you are also making money if you choose to.
The company is under new management. We offer instant payouts (paypal, even masspay, paxum and bank wire) We also match GEO. If you send USA, you get USA back. What is stopping you? |
I added a widget to one of my sites yesterday and it was working fine but now this is what i get:
"There was an error when trying to locate the temporary widget! Please try again..." Maybe that's why or maybe it ain't, I don't know. |

You guys got unlucky that you crashed around the same time as Epassporte and when things got real dark for the regular guy. Things just shut down, I believe it was your hosting company and all payouts stopped and communication vanished completely.
In all fairness, I have always been well treated, and use you on two of my sites today. But regardless of new management, you, as a brand, a company, messed up completely. For many, trust is completely gone. Information on when you guys were rebuilding was very sporadic, and scattered with many, many uncertainties. I think it will take time to regain what you had. In your shoes, I would have invited to an "ask all" seminar or thread here on GFY, where people could freely ask any and all questions, like how do you backup today, can a new server break down happen, how and where is the money in the system kept and who is to guarantee that I can get it out? What log files over earnings/spendings do you keep in case everything would go belly up again? Also, doing shady things like just deciding to test mobile redirects on a number of users, without their knowledge and then pay for it aftewards, nahh, you just don't do that if you want to be taken seriusly. Coming back you need people to trust you again, trust you to have your code on their site. Even i you paid for the mobile redirects afterwards maybe I didn't want that to start with? Also, to just enabling it on the existing Plugrush banners out there by default seems questionable to me. Many people already have some kind of mobile solution so it should not be forced upon you. If I want it, it's nice to have the option to use you, it should not be forced upon you by default. Give people a free will, trust your users, instead of forcing aything upon anyone. That reflects an attitude towads your customers which at least doesn't rub me in the right direction. Nevertheless, as I said in the beginning, I am using you now and have no plans on stop doing so. I am however unsure of whether or not to add you on more sites until some time has gone and there is more "proof" and security. |

As far as the mobile traffic being tested, I agree 100%. Believe me, everyone involved was thoroughly bitched out. And about mobile traffic being redirected now as a default, it shouldn't over-write where you are currently sending your mobile traffic. We also e-mailed everyone in the system that this would be taking place on a certain date. We also posted it on their dashboard so it is the first thing when they log in. I also wrote exactly how to disable selling mobile, pop, and plug traffic. When you create a widget now, there is the Traffic Selling option right there. It is set to default because more than not, users sell traffic, and love it. So you get to trade traffic with similar sites, almost exactly same GEO, and make money while doing it. Backups are now stored in THREE different places. Two of which are EXTREMELY secure. In case something happens like it did last time, who do you think would be the best prepared? Of course, someone who has been through this before, learning the hard way, so that they know exactly how to bounce back from it faster and better than anyone. My goal is to earn your trust back, along with everyone else. Give me 3-6 months and I will prove it to you. |

You still have name recognition and an easy enough setup. Even John Doe who started out yesterday can with reasonable efforts be up and running with you in less than an hour. Which, one must admit, nothing short of impressive. However or not the people involved in the mobile redirect have been bitched at is of equal irrelevance. Sure, it's nice to know that there is one main guy who's running the ship and that the moral standard is decent. But still, a public thread here, saying "We're sorry"would have gone a LONG way. What guarantees are there something similar won't happen again? I believe you guys to be smart and bright enough to see and seize an opportunity when it arises. This leads to the question of next time you guys get an idea, program a piece to handle it, and you want to test it live, what guarantee is there to stop this from being repeated? What's the absolute emergency that prevented you from asking 10, 15, 20 of your largest users if they'd be willing to partake in a new test? Or even have a special "opt-in" box in the settings page, where one could opt-in to allow you to use my site for special tests of new features and services? And as a treat either offer a 5% extra payment or a monthly lottery of say an ipad or something among the people who by their own free will opt-in. Backups, oh yes, we all need them! :) This is the story you should be telling and the song you should be singing each and every time. Explain thouroughly to people about those backups, what an excellent safety system you have, backups in different geographic locations, maybe even on different continents? Tell people what you ave done to prepare yourself for the worst. You need trust, and by being open about your safety and guarantees, you will make it a lot easier for yourself. Explain in detail and trust that sane peole will make the right judgement for themselves. Again, I am using you at the moment and have no plans on changing that. I will gladly give you six months to prove yourself, because I like what you have. And I sincerely appreciate you atking the time to be here and answering questions, it definitley goes to credibility. |
Ok I've just signed up and added a site. It's a shame the widget creation isn't flexible enough to create thumbs that match the size of the ones on my site - I use 240x180 and the widget only goes up to 200x150 or so it seems.
|
I was but then you took forever getting it back up and I couldn't be bothered readding you to all my blogs.

Who can I talk to about buying mobile?
|
Signed up yesterday and got it going early this morning PST. While I'm real happy with the amount of traffic, I'm wondering if it's going to be that beneficial. I have not taken any official stats to do reasonably accurate estimates, but right now it looks like about 90% of my traffic is coming from Vietnam, about 8-9% from Turkey, and the remaning 1% from India and China. Is this what's supposed to be happening? My website and blogs are in English.

Hey Russell hit me up bud, i don't think we concluded what we were talking about a few weeks ago. Maybe we can get some stuff going :)

after I blocked a lot of suspicious sites my stats from PlugRush becomes better but still looks like this:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47616630/1jh.png Yes I have a lot of TR traffic on this site (thanks 2 google), and its normal that PR returns it back to me, but... PROD shows that high-pay countries visitors are VERY lazy to click on site :disgust just a 17% prod for US traffic :1orglaugh This is legal tube with videos from sponsors (2-5min.), no trades, no skim, all thumbs and links goes to content. My main income on this from ad sale and signups + mobile redirect... What do you think? is it any reason to keep PR plug on my site and roll such traffic or remove it? Ad brokers like exoclick pay not too much for TR,BR,ID etc... signup chance from following countries about 1-2% I think |
I don't know what it is.

The old setup made my brain hurt. If I have to read a manual its too complicated.
I will have a look at the new stuff..... |
how does the traffic get traded? I upload a plug or whatever in their system and dont add anything to my site so how do they track and trade the traffic? Do i have to add a plug and a widget?

You also add some "Plugs" to your account, which you choose the thumbnail and landing page (can't be your home page), and what categories you would like the plug to be placed in. Once you do these two things, you should start receiving traffic. Hope this helps, any other questions just ask. |
The old system scared me away, but the new system makes me very happy :pimp
