Netflix really stepped it up
 

so like everyone else, i thought netflix instant streaming movies library blew hard. but i just logged on, new layout and a ton of great movies are in there now. more of ones released a few years back, but great flicks none the less. seems a couple pretty new ones are in there too. i guess they are really making that big push to rid of the mail delivery and go only online. great company

Agreed, you can stream to your tv, pc or phone, it rocks.

Lots of reports saying netfllix is removing the need/desire to pirate movies.

They will often stream really new movies for a limited time. They had the first Iron Man on streaming for a little while and I just watched Easy A on stream last week.

probably the best $9 per month you can spend.

A few years back Blockbuster videos wanted to buy them, but at the request of Netflix of $40,000,000 they backed out.

I hope they get more movies streaming. Seems like every time I get on there to watch something you can't stream it, only DVD.

How's the quality? Last time I tried it, it sucked, it was like watching a skipping video on youtube!

anybody streaming netflix via at&t uverse internet? how's that working out?

i'm wanting to try the 12mbps uverse plan to stream netflix & hulu via roku, but i've read that there are issues with this combo.

Netflix came preloaded on my Google ITV flat screen, so that tempted me to sign up. However, I also love being able to watch movies from my hotel room when I travel. I can watch the movies from the comfort of home, or while traveling when there is nothing else on.

It has a lot of variety, so I can always find something of interest in my 'instant queue' in new releases, documentaries, or even watching some old tv show episodes. It is an awesome product of convenience for pennies a month.

Pirating movies was always about accessibility for me, anyway. If I was able to actually pay to stream the movies online, I'd do that (and I do now, with Netflix.) I just don't want to have to wait for a DVD to come in or have to go out and rent it.

I haven't pirated a single movie that I could watch on my Netflix account.

i don't have the greatest connection, 7 down last time i looked, but i never have any problems. quality is hd, prolly 720, maybe some 1080 but like dave said it won't beat out blu ray. but its nice to have choices on instant in good quality. :thumbsup

The selection is pretty good, but you like the new layout? Seriously? It doesn't even list the titles on the browse page, and everything is in a random order. No way to sort, and the side scroll thing just kills me. I had to use the chrome extension to force it back to the old style just to be able to browse without wanting to throw something at my monitor.

i liked the randomness of it, made me think of movies i hadn't in a while and gave me a bunch of new things added to my queue.

I like to see it random sometimes, but I also want to be able to sort. I almost never know what I want to watch before I visit, so I don't really ever navigate directly to a particular video. Also, I have no interest in the one star and two star stuff, and now I can't see at a glance what's got a decent rating and what doesn't.

I love their setup. I use it on my PS3 when im upstairs, on my ipad in the office.
