I feel your pain. I have been hearing about that show, and the various interviews since, all fucking week.

Women "drawing connections" is a fraction of the pain from this show and the interviews. Having to endlessly listen about his kids and their comments, and this 'Shannon', and her fucking feelings.

To each their own. I am getting married for my second time next year. I guess it's more of a person preference. I've seen it work both ways.

As for Shannon... she put sup with alot of Gene's stupidity. I am sure its a culmination of things.

She's come off as sounding perpetually obsessed with the idea all along.
I think though that if Gene suggested they hit vegas at noon for a quickie wedding and then home for dinner, she'd probably throw a vase at him.

She's allowed him to be the way he is for 28 years. She now wants him to change and be all about her now that the kids are gone and she is having empty nest syndrome. It's her own fucking fault.

What he signed up for when they had gotten together, and what she agreed to, has worked for 28 years. You can't change the rules at the 30 year mark and expect your partner (Gene) to not have some resistance. She is unreasonable.

Maybe he should ask her to stop blowing $30,000.00 on a single shopping trip with her sister as they've done many times on that show? Take away all of her credit cards and access to money and say, "It's time for a change". I know I have let you do whatever you want with out cash up to this point. But now I am going to 'change' all that. You have to live off of $500.00 a week.

It's not all about the money.

I had told my GF if it (money/security) really meant that much to her if we had kids, and all of the rest over 20/30 years that we can go to the lawyer's and work up a civil settlement if she wanted. We would simply work out a fair arrangement should something happen in regards to assets (live a pre-divorce settlement). Then she could have peace of mind and I would not have to be bothered with the 'marriage' bullshit.

Same goes for Gene. I doubt he would be a jerk off. He has a ton of money, and should or would probably give her (willingly) half of his assets she actually cared about. House, car, money, etc..

Best way to prevent any type of show addiction is to shut down tv :)
