X-Men First Class, on a scale of suck, how bad did this suck?

I'm not a huge comic book fiend, but when the fuck was Professor X a swinging shagadelic super spy and Magneto a bad ass ninja Nazi hunter?

Paper_Amar 06-17-2011 02:52 PM

Thought it was Damn GOOD!

My thread, my rules.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 06-17-2011 03:16 PM

It was good, maybe not great, but good. And FAIRLY accurate to the books, at least as far as comic book movies go.

ladida 06-17-2011 03:20 PM

The heroes other then them were horribly picked lol. A fairy spitting bombs? SERIOUSLY ?

96ukssob 06-17-2011 03:23 PM

i think its going to suck but i still want to see it. expectations are so high of movies these days :Oh crap

Well Magneto and X meet in Israel, not at a shagadelic hipster yacht in Miami.

Here's how bad it is. Professor X has mind control powers yet at two different points in the movie he's using mutant based pick up lines on bitches in a bar trying to get laid.

If Professor X wanted poon, he'd fucking MAKE these bitches surrender with the power of his MIND!

sinclair 06-17-2011 04:06 PM

It created its own level of suck on the suck scale. It was THAT bad.
And if it was accurate to the comics how the fuck did anyone take that shit serious (in anyway you can take a comic serious I guess).

Was Kevin Bacon's salary so high they had to borrow props from Mars Attacks?

:2 cents:

Dude, his submarine had a fucking LIBRARY in it. WTF???

Marcus 06-17-2011 04:33 PM

Im a LONG time X-men comic reader and First Class sucked. There were a couple of great moments but there wasn't much action and the final fight scenes were really lame. Theres no reason to see it a second time which is bad for box office #'s. Like The Incredibles or Iron Man I've paid to see those many times because they were great.

All the X-Men movies sucked, except X2, that was a good one.

Yeah she was stupid. I rolled my eyes when I saw that. Or the guy who adapts to his surroundings, embarrassingly bad.

We'll if you read the comic you'd know he doesn't want anyone to do anything against their will. That's why he's a good guy.
Otherwise he'd be a bad guy

Joxxy 06-17-2011 04:39 PM

The film had about 10 months or less of production time, so it was not the most polished comic book film. I think the performances of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were good, but they did not save the movie. Overall, I was entertained but not impressed.

seeric 06-17-2011 04:40 PM

great movie.

dyna mo 06-17-2011 04:57 PM

you can bet your sweet ass that if i had a library, it would be in a submarine.

Fair enough, but I didn't say it was identical.

Did you see Wolverine? I did not.

GAMEFINEST 06-17-2011 05:25 PM

it was ok,

TheSquealer 06-17-2011 05:32 PM

Not a good movie.

Watched Green Lantern today. That movie wasn't too good either. Some cool CGI... kinda meandering and slow story with a very anticlimactic ending

I haven't seen it yet, but the trailers already have me confused - unless they've completely ret-conned the timeline. Emma Frost and the rest of the Hellfire club makes sense as contemporaries of Prof X and Magneto, but why are Beast and Banshee there? Beast was part of the original X-men (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Iceman and Beast). Banshee and Wolverine don't enter the picture until much later.

Now that I think about it, I think I remember that Banshee did have some sort of association with Moira MacTaggert, so maybe that can be explained. But Beast is just looney.

NaughtyRob 06-17-2011 06:34 PM

I liked it.

cooldude7 06-17-2011 09:22 PM

havent seen yet.

Horny Dude 06-17-2011 09:27 PM

I thought it was really good. Not as good as the first 3, but worth the money.

Odin 06-17-2011 11:18 PM

Great movie actually, and I am not really a comic book, nor x-men fan.

RyuLion 06-17-2011 11:21 PM

It was ok, it was in the old days so they couldn't do too many things that made it seems unreal..

SleazyDream 06-17-2011 11:23 PM

i liked it

CaptainHowdy 06-18-2011 06:17 AM

You should have started a fist fight on the movie theatre ...

maybe i will watch, but i dont expect anything good :)

fuzebox 06-18-2011 12:27 PM

I enjoyed it, but I had low expecations and never expect a comic book movie to match the story.

The Wolverine cameo was cute. "Fuck off."
