Yeah

did you have a surge protector?

AsianPimp 06-21-2011 10:27 PM

Don't worry.. they say lightning doesn't struck twice at the same place.. maybe next time you can grab a video cam and start looking at your neighbor's houses.. then you can share it here and really be interesting..

MrBottomTooth 06-21-2011 10:29 PM

Every single computer inthe house is fried. Probably 40000 damage. My arcade machine. My home server. Work computer. Security sytstem. Half my lights don't work. 2 home theater systems.. just getting started. On android phone. Ducking kill me

MrBottomTooth 06-21-2011 10:31 PM

SUrge protectors on everything. They did nothing. Even a 400 monster rack mount pro audio protector did nothing.

the gods have expressed their hate for you, now is the time to panic

MrBottomTooth 06-21-2011 10:33 PM

MrBottomTooth 06-21-2011 11:00 PM

hate to rain on your parade, but there's a good chance the drives might be fried.

Seth Manson 06-21-2011 11:06 PM

Most likely just popped the fuses in your power supplies on the computers, but your homeowner's insurance should cover it.

NetHorse 06-21-2011 11:12 PM

Where are you from? I'm uploading some video I just took on my phone. Looks like we may have been hit with a small EF-0 or EF-1 tornado. Downed power lines, trees and some broken windows at a Walgreens and gas station near by. Other than a bunch of branches and my lawn chairs in the neighbors yard no significant damage to my house, (that I can see as of yet :1orglaugh).

All day the big storms were north and south of us, but the dew points were in the mid 70s so they forecasted the possibility of severe weather developing quickly.

We went from not even having a severe thunderstorm watch to nickle sized hail, hearing a howl and freight train sounds followed by a Tornado siren. :Oh crap

Gave me a good scare.

MrBottomTooth 06-21-2011 11:19 PM

Fried my switch in the basement so the surge must have went through all my cat6 cables. Land line is fried too. Even took out part of my hvac. Time to cry myself to sleep

Barry-xlovecam 06-21-2011 11:31 PM

not good sorry ...

rowan 06-21-2011 11:45 PM

Damn. Is all your stuff insured? If you're lucky it may just be the power supplies that are dead, which in a PC is pretty easy to replace. For your A/V and HVAC stuff it's obviously going to be a bit more involved.

cooldude7 06-22-2011 12:07 AM

this sucks, u have to start from scratch.

Chosen 06-22-2011 05:54 AM
