Wow, just reading the comments at the bottom of that article...people are really pissed off big time with Google.

Thanks for this, I had wondered why the traffic of my new small blogs had jumped up after having been negligible

candyflip 06-22-2011 06:18 AM

My traffic is back. Lost a TON with the last update and had a nice spike back up in the past few days.

Same here, the Panda update didn't affect my main site, but it had hit my smaller blogs, then over the weekend they started looking healthier than ever

A few of them are actually performing better than they were prior to the last update here too.

I can get behind this. :thumbsup

I just looked into this further, one of my recent mini-sites is amazingly 10th for a big keyword that it absolutely does not deserve to be 10th for.

I'm loving Panda 2.2, but I know things can change very quickly in this game.

I'll enjoy this while it lasts :thumbsup

That is good news. Was there any changes you might have made that you think may have helped you?

Klen 06-22-2011 07:59 AM

No changes here.

I can confirm for mine that I left them sitting there exactly the same, so it was definitely Panda

many people lost their lives over this. homes. cars. completely wiped out a ton of seo companies. proof positive that you don't build a house in the sand. google money should be looked at as gravy money, not guaranteed money. anything can happen at any time with google and you are not guaranteed anything with them.

Here are the stats of one of my tiny free sites showing Panda 2.2 coming in, the site is a couple of months old and has had almost zero promotion and just a small number of updates. If I had 1000 of these it would be a lot more interesting! I can see how the mini sites can pay off if you get them right and create them in bulk. On it's own this one isn't much more than an experiment + $500 revenue per year

Panda was relatively easy to beat. Much of its effect wore off after 2 months or so. Many didn't get affected at all. Focus on high quality content to minimize bounce AND link heavily internally

If Panda 2.2 puts a heavier emphasis on bounce rate then all bets are off since many of the site owners I've observed focused on internal linking to get out of the jaws of Panda

Nope. Some of them I actually stopped updating all together when they disappeared from the SERPs.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 06-22-2011 02:02 PM

Well, yay. Maybe now they can get back to basic things like teaching google the difference between the words "recipe" and "review."

Remember the days when you could type in a search query, and it would actually...GASP!.... give you results that included the words you typed?

/google rant.

I just removed 20000 internal links and no damage :)

When was Panda first rolled out?
I highly doubt it was long enough for someone to foreclose on a house lol.

Maybe a few benz and beamers repoed in La from dudes living paycheck to paycheck

candyflip 06-27-2011 12:00 PM

Dropped off the SERPs and lost the traffic again.

icymelon 06-27-2011 12:42 PM

Still up here. I've stopped touching the sites in question ever since I regained the ranks. A few in particular have about 30% in what would appear like commonly used "duplicate content". Those sites didn't rebound but my others did after deleting all offending content on those sites. It took four months for that to happen. I'm going to wait a few weeks then fix these other sites and see where it goes.

The major hit was around mid to late February.

SZNY 06-28-2011 03:07 AM

Weird, most of my sites went from PR0/PR1 > PR2 (even new ones that are online for a few weeks). Some PR3 domains went to PR2 and a few went from PR2 > PR3

I'm lost with this Panda stuff

V_RocKs 06-28-2011 03:40 AM

Shit happens

SZNY 06-28-2011 03:46 AM

yeah lol, some are new and directly from PR0 > PR2, weird

iwantchixx 06-28-2011 05:33 AM

wow did google ever love me on this one.. traffic up 38% in past 2 days compared to previous trends..
Noticed my PR has dropped on one though.. tons of incoming backlinks on that site,, but with many of those their pageranks have dropped as well. may be time to redo it's links to regain some PR but at the same time.. something is working to increase my presence in google's results. Dare I change anything lol
