MAC Address Question
If I am surfing a website or posting to a website, can that website (server etc.) see the MAC address that I am using?
|
not normally, unless you have some sort of script/plugin/software on your computer that is sending that information
|
Thanks...
But I am still a little uncertain. |
I doubt it, but if you unsure use a firewall and vpn

Only thing I could think about is geolocation but after some research even this is not possible.
Maybe Big Brother Google can help you. |

misterhhs is correct - You can not get MAC address if you are not on the same LAN There is no way to get your MAC address over the internet |
So, is there a ban a mac address and not an IP address? So if the IP changes the mac address stays the same correct?
|
A MAC-address stays the same for the whole lifetime of this device. Even a refrigerator that can contact automatically the manufacturer when their is a failure has a MAC-address.
