"letting states legalize, regulate, tax, and control marijuana without federal interference" -- this is the way it should be, let the states decide

Sly 06-22-2011 01:14 PM

Tell them to add online gambling and prostitution to the list.

I know Barney Frank was working on a bill to legalize and tax online poker.

What about meth? I'm tired of moving the kitchen every month.

Supreme Court is forcing California to release 30,000 inmates due to abusive overcrowding which is largely caused by idiotic 3 strikes rules, ridiculous mandatory sentencing laws and the 'war' on drugs. People are finally starting to understand that making pot illegal costs a fortune and serves no real purpose. :2 cents:

I think states will end up legalizing it, which is good, but if they add some stupid restrictions where we can't play with the international pool it will totally suck.

Marijuana is illegal for political, not medical reasons: http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/...juana-illegal/

If they licensed prostitutes the same way they handle fishing and hunting licenses you'd have no underage or nonconsensual participants. The state could also charge a license fee and make STD testing a mandatory part of renewal. It would be safer for those involved, profitable for the states and federal government... only reason it isn't done that way is because it makes too much sense. :2 cents:

Maybe there is a silver lining behind all the recent government fiscal problems.

Drug war = expensive drain on the treasury. Plus a waste of human capital.

I don't do drugs but even a blind man can see that Prohibition is getting nowhere

Prohibition ended during the Great Depression. I won't be surprised if history repeats itself this time around in regards to both...

Considering that roughly 75% of all jailed in California are there for drug offenses and of those over 50% are there for marijuana, all I can say is it's about time.
