twistyneck 06-22-2011 10:05 PM

He was obviously resisting. Fuck him. They should have beaten him to a pulp.

96ukssob 06-22-2011 10:07 PM

years ago, this would of gone on the record of he fell... now with video, its a little harder to do that.

cops are hired to protect the law, not obey it :2 cents:

That guy is well known around there and he can walk just fine. The cops knew who they were dealing with. He got what he deserved.

So according to your book if someone can walk just fine then the cops should be able to slam them to the ground and lie about it in their report? Idiot.

For arguments sake, let's say he did "deserve" it. Would you classify that as a "fall?" It was clearly not a "fall" and claiming it was one is a straight out lie.

What else are they lying about?

Socks 06-23-2011 11:57 AM

"minor injury" hehehe.. If I took a wheelchair bound police officer and threw him on the ground face first, I bet it wouldn't be a "minor injury" at all, now would it? I bet his neck would hurt.. And he'd need worker's comp, and he'd sue, and and and..

TheLegacy 06-23-2011 11:58 AM

Watch the TV show COPS all the time - often they take someone down and there is concussions afterwards. If you resist arrest they need to make sure you're taken down fast since you may or may not have a gun or something else that can harm innocent people around. I'm not a cop and I don't think anyone else is here to appreciate the variety of situations that could happen. So he was in a wheelchair - he was taken down like anyone else so doesn't make a difference.

HighlyIntoxicated 06-23-2011 02:18 PM

What concerns me most about this situation is that the cops charged him with assaulting a police officer. Probably to cover their own asses, and now this guy has some serious charges to fight.

yes, you can actually see him jumping out of the chair to hit them.

what if there was no recording? now that would be bad

wonder how much this recording will change things.

So with that logic, are you arguing that Johannes Mehserle shouldn't have been prosecuted or convicted for shooting Oscar Grant in the back at point-blank range? Are you arguing that police should be able to confiscate video cameras for recording them breaking people's faces and pumping people's vehicles full of lead? They do it under the guise of "confiscating evidence"... evidence that would likely be used against them.

What if they were pumping your car full of lead? Think they should have the right to disallow people their First Amendment rights for trying to protect you? How about when Chicago Police were caught anally raping people with toilet plungers, almost to the point that people died?

Are you condoning LE's contempt and disregard for the law they seek to "enforce"?

I think what he was trying to say is that the cops don't care about justice or about protecting the people, but only care about protecting the legal system/their job.
