So even if you drove 50,000 miles a year in a car that only got 20 miles to the gallon you're out an extra $50 a year. You want roads that aren't shit?

In other countries owning and driving a car is a luxury. Here in America an average joe can enjoy a 600hp toy on the weekends. :pimp

Over %60, price is $2/liter which makes around $8/gallon

Little known fact. In the last 10 years the government has made more money of the sale of gas and oil than big oil has. :thumbsup

BJ 06-26-2011 05:35 AM

they are not talking about the propane tank hooked up to your trailer. Relax.

You're kidding yourself if you think the gas tax pays for the roads. You really should look over your city/towns budget :thumbsup

That's what the money is for. Oh by the way, gas taxes are collect by the STATE and FEDERAL governments. So of course LOCAL governments wouldn't budget for it since they don't collect the money.

federal gas tax is 18.4 cents per gallon. It's not a percentage. It's 18.4 cents per gallon if gas is 75 cents a gallon or $5 a gallon.

I pay about 60 cents in tax per gallon (flat tax) in Chicago. When I filled up yesterday, 10 gallons cost me ~ 41$.
