Canadian Postal Employees Back-To- Work Tonight - USPS To Begin Accepting Mail Destined For Canada Tomorrow

Back-To-Work Legislation was passed by the Canadian Government late Sunday night. Canadian Postal employees will be back on the job beginning tonight at 8:30 p.m. The USPS will begin accepting mail for Canada first thing tomorrow, June 28, 2011. Mail being held in our network since the lockout began is now being released and transported into Canada.

Please be aware that due to the large volumes of mail being held by countries around the world during the lockout, you may experience slightly longer transit times. We expect that to ease as delivery in Canada returns to normal. We are continuing to work closely with the Canadian Postal Service to help minimize these delays as much as possible.

Customers looking to avoid delays should use Global Express Guaranteed (GXG). GXG is the best option for expedited delivery into Canada. GXG is available at thousands of retail locations across the country or through Click-N-Ship at www.USPS.Com.

Thank you for using the Postal Service .

i can't believe y'all let your postal workers strike anyway, wtf!

Sly 06-27-2011 08:20 AM

Postal workers ought to be careful with strikes.

What do we get in the physical mail that we actually want? I get my bills online, I get my money online, letters online. I literally get nothing in the physical mail that I want, aside from packages, which are not mail.

My brother in law is a postie. He said that the leader of the union is prepared to go to jail in defiance of the legislation.

Hope he's prepared to pay a $100,000 fine as well.

Apparently that is the fine that would be handed down from the government.

the only thing i don't get online is the money. after the epass crap i go with checks. i would do wires but at 40-60 bucks each in fees, its just not worth it. if there was another reliable method to get money, i would not miss the mail at all.

I agree, it can be very tough. If the world, or even just businesses, could find a fairly easy solution to transfer money to customers/vendors, ahhh it would be nice!

It would appear the Canadian Illuminati have allowed things to resume.
