One of my sisters scored, big time

One of my sisters started working for Hyundai a few years ago as a temp. After 18 months they brought her on full time. She has been an actual employee for less than 18 months. Last Tuesday her boss called her to congratulate and apologize.

Congratulate her that she was one of ten US employees to be acknowledged by the corp, and to apologize for the short notice. The notice being that she was being given a one week, all expenses paid vacation to Jeju, South Korea. She is not allowed to bring her laptop as they do not want any work to be done while on this vacation.

I guess hard work can pay off.

I don't think being forced to eat rats and dog meat for a week would be a very fun vacation.

Get real.

She's just being kidnapped and smuggled into North Korea to teach soccer.

That's great, I would be very proud too.

A week without a laptop, I couldn't make it.

What a wonderful story - thanks for sharing baddog

My expediting company does a lot of deliveries for Hyundai plants, especially the one in West Point, Georgia. It's amazing how Hyundai went from such a cheap, poorly made vehicle to one of the most reliable cars on the road. I had a Santa Fe a few years ago and absolutely loved that thing...

Agreed. The YP shows were tough enough for me and that was only for a couple days.

Yeah, I'll give them credit. From what I've heard and read, it seems Hyundai has come a long way and is making great cars.

SmokeyTheBear 06-29-2011 09:37 AM

hyundai and kia just announced today they are sponsoring jeju island as one of the 7 "wonders of nature"
