Iran showed Russia downed US drones and planes

Iran has shown Russia several American drones and spy planes it downed.....http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news...-1226083658311

Now this part makes me laugh
a) Washington never confirmed Tehran had shot down any of its drones.
B) Washington has expressed concern about Tehran's possession of the aircraft.

Credit to Iran on this, they went their own way 20 years ago and put their money into developing their own self defence systems...it seems it has paid dividends. They are blowing American aircraft out of the sky at will.

Would be interesting to see if that capability extends to Fa18`s or above.

If there is a lesson to be learned from Iran...its that developing your own systems is the way to go.

Cool.

Now learn from then and develop your own system for search engines and
stop whining about google.

How is there a lesson to be learned from that? Every civilized country on this planet that has a military has a missile / aircraft defense system that could shoot down a drone.

We just don't care about political relations with Iran so we fly drones into their airspace. THAT'S why they've shot down drones, not because they have the capability but because we've chose to disregard their air space. The reasons other countries don't shoot down our drones is because we respect their airspace.

There's nothing special about Iran's military capabilities to be able to shoot down drones. :2 cents:

And also, if any major military power went into Iran - they'd LEVEL Iran's missile / aircraft defense systems first. And it'd be done from a ship hundreds of miles away, there'd be nothing Iran could do about it.

you're an idiot... :thumbsup

do you know that most of the drones are propeller driven and fly very slow?

of course they are easy to bring down..

the US would decimate Iran just like it did in Iraq..

we spend so much fucking much on the military, of course we should have the best..

and we do....

Yeah, because the cold war is still going on and Russia gives a shit.

Babaganoosh 06-29-2011 08:03 AM

Haha, drones aren't sophisticated technology at all. They're cheap, easy to manufacture and don't risk human pilots. There's nothing top-secret and sophisticated about them...unless you live in a third world shithole and the latest camel saddle is considered high tech.

idtapdat 06-29-2011 08:07 AM

what if their mission was to get shot down

Iran just announced they have several underground missile silo's with targeted missiles capable of reaching europe. might wanna rethink that idea considering how badly we are failing in iraq and afghanistan against an enemy with ZERO advanced weaponry.

A few minutes warning would rain hell across europe. You know the first one going down in flames is israel.
