NYC football star killed in parking lot moments after graduation

One of the brightest stars of the 2010 PSAL football season in New York City was Isayah Muller, the Harry S. Truman (N.Y.) High running back who set a career rushing record while leading his team to a 23-20 PSAL Bowl title against Beach Channel (N.Y.) High in late November. Seven months later, he was pronounced dead hours after his high school graduation, following a shocking stabbing during an argument with parking attendants at the event.

According to the Associated Press and numerous sources, Muller, his family and his girlfriend were leaving the Truman High School graduation on Tuesday when his father noticed a bottle of cologne -- a graduation gift for his son -- that had been left in their car during the ceremony at Lehman College was missing.

The elder Muller stopped the car and began arguing with the parking attendants about the missing cologne. After seeing his father argue with the attendants, Isayah Muller got out of the car and joined the fray, eventually receiving stab wounds from both of the two parking attendants involved in the altercation. One wound struck him in the side while another was delivered to his chest.

This is really sad news and totally fucked.

I'm sorry, but is there a person on this planet that doesn't know that parking lots are not responsible for missing items while your car is parked there? It's about the ONLY sign you'll ever see in a parking lot with a paid attendant.

In other words, you're wasting your time your breath and your life to argue with a parking lot attendant about a theft from your car. My god what a waste.

96ukssob 06-29-2011 10:10 AM

wow, thats a shame... RIP

i think it was about the principle. :2 cents: the car was locked and now something is missing that was there when they turned the car over.

The only person arrested was the father, on assault charges. The way I see it unfolding .....

The father, a resident of the Bronx who should be aware of car thefts, foolishly leaves something of value in the car in a parking lot. Probably a lot with signs telling him the lot bears no responsibility for lost or missing items. He then gets in the faces of some attendants and is joined by his son. An attendant being verbally abused and fearing he is about to me physically abused stabs the teen. Looks like the cops on the scene decided the only ones at fault were the father and son.

.

Geez, what a waste and a sad end to a promising chance for this young guy.

Of course, and I agree it's pretty obvious it was stolen while parked, and I want to point out too that I'm in NO WAY condoning the criminal attack by the parking lot thugs.

But there is nothing they're ever going to do for anyone, they know they are immune because of their signage. That's why it's there, thats the risk every person has to know when the pull into a parking lot like that. To confront them is just totally useless and all that's going to happen is a fight. So whats the point? Missing item is bad. Missing item plus stabbed is NOT better. Even if they got a refund of their parking money or something, it's not bringing back the stolen goods. Cool heads have to prevail at some point.

i don't think this was valet parking, not sure we know if the car was locked.:2 cents:

hindsight is 20/20 obviously no bottle of anything is worth a life.

My bet is they have a bunch of dropouts doing parking. You have a rich graduate complaining about a bottle of cologne missing, probably accusing the parking attendants of theft. Probably alot of bitterness involved..

xNetworx 06-29-2011 11:01 AM

Really sad story for everybody involved

LAJ 06-29-2011 11:21 AM

Hasn't everyone been ripped off by a parking attendant at one time or another? What a stupid waste over a bottle of cologne.

Well now they're responsible for murder. I guess they forgot to make a "stabbing" sign to indemnify themselves against murder huh? :winkwink:

I feel like there is a lot of missing info here.

Surveillance video of the incident was used in a Wednesday hearing on the dispute, with charges of assault, menacing, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon levied against Muller. The weapon in question was a snow shovel which was picked up from outside the parking attendants' shack by Andre Muller, pictured above with his pregnant wife Rosa. The video also showed Isayah Muller throwing punches in the fight, but did not show him being stabbed.

The football star also was responsible for breaking into the attendants' shack, in which the two attendants involved in the altercation had barricaded themselves when Andre Muller came at them wielding the shovel, which he used to hit one of the attendants named Ramon Hernandez.
Lovely .
