+1 Google's version of the like button

What do you think, too late to take on Facebook?

Iv been using it on one of my mainstream sites for awhile now and compared to the facebook like button nobody seems to know wtf its for and just ignore it

Have to seen Google+ yet? Just got an account this evening, and I think it's excellent! Think it could do a pretty good job of denting Facebook.

I especially like the Circles concept. This is a social network I can actually use (unlink Facebook). You know, customers don't want to see pictures of my dog, and my family doesn't give a shit about some promo I'm offering, so this is perfect. Kudos to Google for that.

The +1 is slightly different since it directly influences SERP position. I think, at minimum, it'll be extremely popular among webmasters and web-savvy people. As for taking out Facebook, I doubt it, but it's a small possibility. Google+ just seems more streamlined than FB at the moment, which is what FB had over Myspace. Google's revenue model is also comparable to Facebook's, so I don't see them grounded out that easily.

I think people are starting to understand what the +1 is for.

One of my sites has close to 2000 likes so I know they uhhh like it.

I placed the +1 button on this site since the button was available and up until last week
it had not been touched. Now it has gained a few +1s as well as some across my other sites.

Once Google+ is completely rolled out and people grasp the concept I am sure it will be accepted just as much as the Facebook like button.

It's just one more thing for me to delete as soon as someone releases a userscript to do so.
