Good thumbnailing script? Subject location aware?
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has come across a script that can recognise the main focus of a photo and thumbnail crop around that?
Cheers. |
none? ;(

imagemagick can do that i think

my bad, it can tell the focal length, but not crop from that.
example using exiv2, will find the most used focal lengths of a directory of photos. Code:
exiv2 *JPG | grep Focal | awk '{print $5}' | sort -n | uniq -c |
http://www.irfanview.com no subject aware but easy to use

How does a computer define the area of interest in a photo when it's so subjective to a human? If there's a full frontal shot of a pretty girl do you crop the face, boobs & torso, pussy, feet?...
That one is probably in the too hard basket, for a few more years anyway... unless you just want faces. I do have a program that can recognise skin tones and crop around that, but it's for my sites only. :thumbsup |
