So my dog got bit by a snake

Vet said it wasnt poisonous. Got him on his ankle. Poor boy can't walk. So I walk around the yard pumping 12 guage shells into anything moving. Neighbors called the cops, cops came with guns drawn. Told them I was shooting rattlers. After they heard the word "rattlers" they declined my offer to walk around the property and see for themselves. They left rather fast. LOL

gmr324 07-11-2011 04:52 AM

you would think the neighbors would appreciate you clearing out the snakes. Hope your dog recuperates quickly

He didn't tell you he lived in a condo. :1orglaugh

Actually I watched a special about snakes in the Miami area on Animal Planet just yesterday. Kids dogs anything in back yards are increasingly at risk from snakes migrating out of the swamps.

Hope the dog recovers.

You would think. He's doing better, walking again but very tired. Painkillers knock him out, he sleeps all day now. lol

Tell me about it, LOL. I have not had a good nights sleep in weeks. Two nights ago a blue caterpillar woke me up crawling on my shoulder. He tried to sting me but missed luckily. My pest control company gets called weekly now. This is what I get for living in the woods. We had a serious drought up until a week ago so all the critters headed indoors looking for water. I have like 5 lbs of boric acid I'm gonna be putting down tomorrow.

And to top it all off 3 nights ago 4 houses down 5 gigantic wild boars were on the neighbors front porch. Each had to be 100 lbs each. If they would have opened their front door they would have found all 5 of them staring them down.

But on the bright side there's eagles out here, cranes, giant turtles, peacocks, deer, and the occasional gator to make things interesting. LOL

There are seriously wild boar left? I thought they were all just for sport hunting now. Wow, that's scary and cool at the same time.

Hope your dog recovers quickly!

candyflip 07-11-2011 01:16 PM

An actress on the set I'm working on got bit on the face by a spider and we've had to rearrange the schedule because she's swollen. I hope it doesn't get any worse.

u-Bob 07-11-2011 01:19 PM

I hate snakes!

Choopa Phil 07-11-2011 01:30 PM

ugh i got a spider bite in my sleep once, my whole foot got swollen then all the skin peeled off the bottom in 1 giant piece bigger than a silver dollar. Didnt feel it just woke up with 2 little bite marks. its always the little critters that have the biggest impact

thickcash_amo 07-11-2011 05:44 PM

Wedgefield, it's South of Christmas right off 528

DirtyDanza 07-11-2011 06:33 PM

Can I come stay with you and shoot guns at rattlers ?

Please? I'll even go after the Boar with my Kabar (thats knife for those that don't know)

Hunting boar with a big knife is the only way to do it IMO

I heard that snakes jump at bullets at night any truth to that? you'd think growing up in the desert and being a crazy gun nut I would have confirmed me a few by now.. NOPE...

Desert Bats are my thing to shoot at.. I have over 27,000 logged rounds at desert bats.. wanna know how many confirmed kills? zero.....

Yikes i would move somewhere else at your place,i mean even i don't have all that crap at my place i still consider moving out due to all those small bugs crawling in.And btw i recently bought a electricity racket which generate static electricity so you can easily kill bugs with it,maybe even some bigger things.

Yeah, its that show Swamp Wars, crazy all of the non native species that are breading in the everglades and then wandering into the urban area. Saw another show where a non native 5 ft monitor lizard went through someone's doggy door into their house in Miami, guy had a nice wake up visit.

SleazyDream 07-12-2011 02:03 AM

I live in the stix, burms all around the property and where theres no burms theres palmettos 300 feet thick. It's legal to discharge firearms where I live. I was shooting down into the ground anyway. But sometimes neighbors call the cops anyway. They show up make sure your not killing anyone then leave. When I hear 4 wheelers next door in the canals I make sure to fire off a few rounds from the AK. Gotta make sure these kids realize this is a property to avoid. LOL
