A Dance with Dragons

A Dance with Dragons, the latest in the Sword of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series by George R. R. Martin is out! Anyone else picked up a copy? Dig in!

Just started digging into the first book last week. It's gonna take me a while to catch up.

Oops, A Song of Ice and Fire.

Don't worry, you'll have all of them finished LONG before George writes the next book.

going to get it...but rereading the other books now...it's been too long...have to get back into the story

Haven't read the series, only watched Game of Thrones, the first season...

I hope it's better than "A Feast for Crows." That book focused too much on supporting characters. It was loooong and nothing much happened. Even when there was action, it happened "off screen" and mentioned in past-tense, summary form.

Supposedly, "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance with Dragons" were originally part of the same rough draft. Martin divided them into two books as it grew too long. But, with the poor reviews of "Feast" and such a long period of time between the two, I hope Martin did some serious revisions.

I'm holding out hope, but fear "The Song of Fire and Ice" series has gone the way of Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time."

I have to disagree with you. At first I shared these same sentiments, non of my favorite characters appeared in the last book. But after reading for awhile some CRAZY SHIT went down. Overall it was great book! I didn't expect it to be good considering the character focus, but it was. I can't wait to get home to dig into A Dance with Dragons!

I'm waiting until he finishes the full series before starting it. I don't want to get into a and have him never get done with it.

However, I have a friend that is in a full on nerd froth and can't wait to read it. :)
