lets be nice.

Rochard 07-12-2011 11:31 AM

It doesn't really matter. We pick the lesser of two evils, be it one party or the other.

I honestly believe that the Republican party made a decision to not to run in the last election by putting up McCain and Palin. They never had a chance and I'm surprised that it was as close as it was.

People don't seem to understand the shape we are in. At one point in time HALF of the houses on my street were empty because people vacated them. It doesn't get any worse than that. It's gonna take a lot time to get better....

Poindexterity 07-12-2011 11:49 AM

you too, huh?

stach14 07-12-2011 11:53 AM

" baseline, follows the law as it’s written" So, if Congress did nothing at all, just let everything go as it is set to go right now.... then,

"Under the baseline scenario, revenue and spending would equalize later this decade, and the government would run a primary budget surplus - meaning all costs except interest on the debt - by the middle of the century."

The anti-american propaganda machine knows no mercy.... read up!

With the way both sides are acting we need to toss them all out of office... :(

opusx312 07-12-2011 12:12 PM

i didn't like him a while ago. But i don't like republicans or democratic. I'm a libertarian.

billywatson 07-12-2011 12:18 PM

Until the lobbyists and big Corp $$ is out of politics, this is what we're gonna get.

jerryb 07-12-2011 12:25 PM

I voted for him and am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry that I did.

Never again for that snake in the grass. What a fucking mess he has added to this country via debts and laws.

As I said 'NEVER AGAIN FOR THAT SNAKE ~~~~~ IN THE GRASS'.

If you want real change there is only one choice in 2012 vote Ron Paul. The only non-corporatist running.

yeah but he is a libertarian... I like him but dislike his politics quite strongly

JamesGw 07-12-2011 12:55 PM

I wasn't a fan from the beginning. Although I guess that's partially because of all the dumb girls at my college that wouldn't shut up about him during the election.

marlboroack 07-12-2011 12:56 PM

If he just gave me money i would be happy with him. Fuck everything else.

DiF0r 07-12-2011 01:00 PM

What did he do ?

Barry-xlovecam 07-12-2011 01:41 PM

Imagine, if the McCain/Palin ticket had won ...

PornStarToys 07-12-2011 01:42 PM

Really? I love him more and more every day.

The way he does absolutely nothing is an incredible turn on.

raymor 07-12-2011 01:47 PM

The lines about going after corporations (us) and raising our taxes even more during his campaign did it for me. His own campaign commercials made clear that he intended to make life hard for business owners and he's done exactly that.

Now in two and a half years he's taken us from $10 in debt (over 200 years) to nearly $15 trillion. That's $30,000 per tax payer in new debt! I don't understand why there's anyone who's not up in arms about him sensing $30,000 of their money to his friends at ACORN and such. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have another $30,000 to spare for his next dumb idea.
Now if only the republicans can nominate someone who isn't a kook. Pawlenty and Gingrich at least have some success to point to. Gingrich will take the long term view, maybe, rather than just looking at the next election.

Obama as President:

Quote:

Obama says he cannot guarantee Social Security checks will go out on August 3
President Obama on Tuesday said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks August 3 if Democrats and Republicans in Washington do not reach an agreement on reducing the deficit in the coming weeks.

"I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it," Mr. Obama said in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, according to excerpts released by CBS News.

The Obama administration and many economists have warned of economic catastrophe if the United States does not raise the amount it is legally allowed to borrow by August 2.

Lawmakers from both parties want to use the threat of that deadline to work out a broader package on long-term deficit reduction, with Republicans looking to cut trillions of dollars in federal spending, while Democrats are pushing for a more "balanced approach," which would include both spending cuts and increased revenue through taxes.

Obama as Senator:

Quote:

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America?s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can?t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government?s reckless fiscal policies.

Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is ?trillion? with a ?T.? That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President?s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion.

Numbers that large are sometimes hard to understand. Some people may wonder why they matter. Here is why: This year, the Federal Government will spend $220 billion on interest. That is more money to pay interest on our national debt than we?ll spend on Medicaid and the State Children?s Health Insurance Program. That is more money to pay interest on our debt this year than we will spend on education, homeland security, transportation, and veterans benefits combined. It is more money in one year than we are likely to spend to rebuild the devastated gulf coast in a way that honors the best of America.

And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on.

Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America?s priorities.

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

quote of the year...

i still cant believe how many people think the president runs this country...

corporations are running this country (primarily banks) and that is the problem..

the democrats and republicans have figured out that if they can get the american people fighting about which side is right and which side is wrong, they can create enough distraction to fuck us all in the ass and steal our money...

people need to wake up and start spreading the word that there is no two party system.. its one collective now that is focused on their best interests and not the peoples...

it should scare the shit out of all of you that obama administration is exactly like bush administration (spending, wars, loss of privacy, doing whatever the corporations want, etc, etc..) and the next president will be exactly like obama.. everything is the same whether its republican or democrat controlled congress..

think about it.... :2 cents:

He has spent 500b up and above the call....
