From my own experiences, I would go for the Asus machine. From what I have experienced myself and heard from other Asus owners, Asus is just totally solid. I have had Acer´s before and was NOT happy with them. Also, in my country Acer support sucks big time.

Alienware, sure if you are a gamer.

If you budget is only $1500 don't get a mac.

Go for the AlienWare.

all have the same processor
all have 8gb of ram (except toshiba so thats out)
asus has older graphics card (so thats out)

toss up between acer and alienware

get the alienware

well my son has had a new asus for about a month and the hard drive packed up last night lol ...he is very pissed about it and dont think he will ever buy another asus again

The various assemblers pretty much use the same parts. None of those brands make their own memory, hard drives, displays etc. so the brand on the outside of the box doesn't tell you anything useful. Since the difference is basically who put it in the box, I'd get lowest priced of two machines with the same specs.
