Fucking AT&T screwing up my T-Mobile expirience

Fucking sleazy leeches. Double-triple check everything on your accounts. They roll you in into some deals that you didn't sign up to, if you are not careful you will be paying for something else that you may believe you are paying for.

I'm with t-mobile for a long time, never had problems, although they can play tricks with you too, that is for certain, I believe all these big3 telco companies are sleazy bastards.

I was on tmobile 1000plus plan with unlimited text paying 63 with taxes. Went to pay my bill online yesterday and to my surprise there is new "other" charge for handset protection. wtf they want to protect my handset that I bought years ago off of ebay?! I call them up asking to remove this from my bill. They gladly remove it from next billing cycle. I'm asking to be nice and remove it from my current bill as well in addition for another bullshit warranty they've been charging me for which I never signed up either (being a nice guy I did not ask to remove from any previous bills) - they would not do it, would not let go of lousy 8 bucks.
So after this unpleasant call I started thinking about either downgrading or switching to someone else. I looked at t-mobile's pre-paid deals and found this sweet 30/mo for 1500 minutes and texts deal. I call them back to downgrade and switch my plan. They start trying to BS scaring tactics that if I switch to prepaid I won't be able to login to my.t-mobile.com and won't be able to pay my bills online - LOL, trying to push stupid 20/mo 200minutes so I would stay with them and have free nights and weekends and be exposed no any new possibilities to pay for shit I don't sign up for. They got me thinking for a moment but then I was back on my track and stuck to my original plan. I told them switch me to 30/mo 1500 minutes&text pre-paid deal. All was fine, or at least I thought it was.

Today my new pre-paid service rolls in. I go ahead and fill up my prepaid account online (which they told I won't be able to do, like I care if i will be able to login to my.t-mobile.com instead of going to prepaid.t-mobile.com or whatever site url is). Made the fill up account. TXT MSG comes in and tells me I successfully filled up 30 dollars which added 175 minutes to my account. WTF is this shit?! I didn't sign up to their pay-as-you-go service!!!! I call customer service, spend another 30min of my time while they're slowly move me to what I wanted 30/mo 1500 minutes&texts

The moral of the story you are so greedy that if you try to sneak some BS charges and won't discount one time 8 dollars to a good standing customer, you will loose either all of that 63/mo or like in my case over 1/2 of that accounting to close to $400/year. Another moral if you are not careful they will fuck you every time they get a chance. T-mobile officially sucks now same as AT&T being bought out by them.

I fucking hate AT&T. they are a bunch of fifthly stealing bottom feeding fuck tards.

I just bought a brand new phone, paid FULL price 2 months ago so I would avoid extending my contract, but they did it anyway

Serge Litehead 07-15-2011 09:15 AM

Yeah I'm done with contracts, once my contract came to renewal few years ago I told them I don't want it anymore, t-mobile was nice to have me my original plan with no 2years contract bs with huge cancelling fee attached. I don't need lousy new phone discount to pay premium for customer support whose main job to try to upsell you more services you don't need.

V_RocKs 07-15-2011 11:01 AM

AT&T hasn't bought T-Mobile yet... won't happen for more than a year.

PornStarToys 07-15-2011 11:06 AM

Verizon has yet to screw me over or drop a call :)

Rochard 07-15-2011 11:09 AM

Every now and and then you should walk into your local store and go over your bill with them. Based on your past usage you can see if you are paying for features you aren't using. Last time we did this we saved $15 a month.

Check out Virgin Mobile, runs on the Sprint network, no contracts, low monthly rates, and has the least amount of extra "fees". The only downside is a limited selection of phones.

Prepaid service = Pay as you Go
What did you think T-Mobile meant by prepaid? It's your fault, not T-Mobile's fault.

However, with that being said T-Mobile is fucking annoying with their text message spamming for sweepstakes and related nonsense, even when I specifically called them to opt-out from receiving that shit.

There are two types services in prepaid area.. you pay per minutes and they're valid 90-180 days Or you can prepay monthly use. purchasing minutes is more costly than prepaying monthly use. I told them specifically i wanted 30/mo deal for 1500 minutes & txts. After I filled up my account I found out they put me on to other plan where $30 buys you 175 minutes which are valid for 90 days. See the difference?

Thanks. I don't worry about phone selections, I don't keep up with latest and fanciest gadgets :) in the past 10 years I used 3 phones. I would probably kept on using my previous one if it didn't die on me all of a sudden SonyEricson T610 after about 5-6 years of use. Now been using PalmTreo for few years it doesn't even have WiFi - only disadvantage, But I don't spend much time on the phone lately like I used to spend 1.5-3k minutes monthly in the past, see no particular need to hunt the coolest stuff around.

I though T-mobile was already bought by ATT if not i guess they are trying to up their books. But endup getting less revenue from me and I get 1/3 better deal for 1/2 less cost of money paid before on their prepaid plan, all for disputed $8 :)

Verizon (then Bell Atlantic here) screwed me on ISDN service, pre DSL era
they can kindly go fuck themselves for that 2k dollars they pulled out of their ass on me. And their ISDN tech support didn't know shit about ISDN and techs that were coming in installing it in first place there were about 10 of those visits.

All these big telco boys sleazy and screwy one way or another.

icymelon 07-15-2011 03:22 PM

if you use internet on your phone you probably want to get a plan quick because they are all going to limited use packages and not unlimited

I use Virgin. Left T-Mobile in April.

I only use maybe 100-200 minutes a month TOPS, so the 300 minute plan is perfect for me. $25/month for 300 minutes, unlimited messaging and data on an Android phone. 1200 minute plan is $40/mo.

Rates go up on July 20th, so sign up before then if you're interested. The $25 plan goes to $35, the $40 plan goes to $45, and the unlimited minute $60 plan goes to $55.

Service is decent. Not as good as T-Mobile but decent for what you pay for. T-Mobile had better coverage in my state.

Also, AT&T hasn't purchased T-Mobile yet so they have nothing to do with your issues.

Blazed Studios 07-15-2011 04:44 PM

T-mobile has been pretty good for me. Had issues with Sprint and Verzion is overpriced

That sounds kinda greedy. Since they also operate Niteflirt, I guess they hypocrites too.

This thread just saved me 10 bucks a month. Thanks, Holograph.

I got a message the other day from t-mo about my data plan changing, and after seeing this thread it reminded me to check what happened... I don't see any changes at all.

I am making the last absurd 15 dollar a month payment this month for the MyTouch 3G I bought a year and a half ago (and no longer use) and I took off the 7.99 a month protection package that I would never, ever use because it's easier and quicker just to buy a new phone off craigslist (which is what I recently did when I got sick of my previous phone crashing constantly).

So my 80 dollar a month plan went from 113-115 a month down to ... wait... I think it only went down 4 dollars after taking off the 8 dollar plan.

Whatever, I'll wait to see what the bill is next month before I flip out and call.

It should drop to under $100 for the first time in several years.

I have unlimited everything, which is probably a bit much but some months I'll use 300 minutes and some I use 2500...

Jon, you may want to check this out
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/monthly-4g-plans
prepaid $70/mo unlimited everything, no contracts and other bs. 411 and such cost more but who needs those if you have inet and skype for international contacts

They charged $2 something on top of my $30/mo prepaid - charge fee or tax, don't even know. Will see how this prepaid deal turns out in the long run..

That 7.99 is what I had issue with, did not signup to that and they would not let it off from current paid bill.
