Best video formats for clips stores?
 

I want to start working more with clips stores like clips4sale and clips.com and I wonder what formats these clips ought to be in? Obviously .wmv is a sure bet, and maybe .m4v for iPods, but should i bother putting them in .mov or divx as well?

No streaming, just selling? If so, avi is your best bet. Best quality, even though the size is bigger. But, it's worth the price.

P.S. Would be the videos watermarked or not? I'd suggest you to watermark them, and to offer a watermark free version for bigger amount of cash.

For me it seems to be wmv, the amount moved in mp4 is almost not worth it.

I would also suggest wmv. It's a fair deal kind of thing and yes mp4 is not cost effective.

Thanks! I for sure want to offer wmv format , but was wondering what I should offer alongside wmv as an alternative. I see that other stores occasionally offer mov and divx alongside their wmv clips, but have no idea if these are the most popular

I sell my clips in wmv,ipod,mpeg,divx and quicktime format..they all sell, but wmv is by far the most popular format.

I would suggest wmv. and also mp4, this will give you more updates, on clips4sale when you update, your site shows on the main page, so you want to be on there as much as possible. also as Frosty mentioned make sure you watermark everything, when I started i didn't add any, and it has just become a headach with all my stuff ending up on tube sites and some people will even add thier own watermarks to your stuff "TNA Flix"

I create youtube videos for my clients and all are wmv.. So my suggestion too is for same!! Also its always liked for quality.
