TRAFFIC 101 - Google image search - thoughts in here...

Its pretty common play for others to use OUR copywritten content to get views/traffic to a specified site - however as much as people dislike the google image search engine it does seem to bring in some traffic with little effort.

I've been in this business for almost 14 years and I want to start asking this forum about the ideas and strategies they use to GET TRAFFIC. Lets spend summer re-educating and trying new concepts and ideas that others share and land ourselves a happier profitable year :) I might even tell you what I do ;)

With that said, lets begin with GOOGLE IMAGE STRATEGIES:

. What techniques have you been using to harness google image traffic?
. Are you restricting yourself to ALT tag keywords within your web code or do you find that IMAGE descriptors in the image itself render a better result?
. Do you love or hate? :)

HAHAHA, maybe I should talk about the weather or how bad my sandwich was today to start a thread? lol. No comments everyone or do you guys even know how to monetize from this hahaha.

Yeah you wont get many answers. For the most part a lot of the people just dont know how they end up there.

For me its both the Meta's and the image descriptions.

Also seems to have some popularity things to it to.

Please explain. Are you talking about image file properties?

I just startet two days ago to use the "image file properties" on a couple of blogs, just to see if that would give results. Besides that, I rank pretty good on google image search for a couple of good search phrases, using only alt tag keywords and naming imagefiles.

Break the frame and it suddenly turns into really great traffic.

We get a lot of traffic from Google images. What we have found is that the actual file names of the images themselves seem to be attractive to Google. We started using longer, yet more concise, file names some time ago. For adult, using a models name in the file name seems to work nicely, especially when using dashes. For example instead of image10.jpg we might use Nina-Hartley-black-lingerie-blowjob-001.jpg.

We started noticing this a couple of years ago as we were getting quite a bit of traffic from the images anyway. Once we started tweaking things like the file name our retentions seem to increase. :2 cents:

Also, we use a simple program called Fast Stone to rename our files in bulk before we put them on our sites. Great program for resizing/renaming files en masse.

If you guys are talking about the EXIF/IPTC keywords (See screen shot below) I thought Google has not yet started reading those types of things.
To my knowledge, Google only reads the file names, title and alt tags but I could be wrong. Would be awesome if they do.

Yes! :D just another layer to be included.

I think many people on here when designing sites are not taking into count the strategy of googles image directory and its just a waste when its so simple!

So first lets use a WORDPRESS BLOG operator as an example to easily implement googles image strategy by simple SEO strategy that works.

First you need to set a proper permalink: http://www.NAMEOFSITE.com/wp-admin/o...-permalink.php - I recommend (select custom):
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%

Assuming each wordpress entry contains one main image and a bit of text then I recommend you do this...

Pick a keyword phrase to use that appeals to your site! Remember that this phrase will increase your SEO as well as your placement in google images. keyword for fun: "tiny tits"

"I LOVE GIRLS WITH TINY TITS" post title
"Īt is fun when walking around and taking a look at all the girls with TINY TITS in this world. blah blah blah"

Insert your image and be sure to include an ALTERNATIVE tag of "tiny tits photos" or add some fluffer keyword to this.

Be sure to name the actually photo itself tiny-tits-picture.jpg to get filename relevancy.
------------------------------------------------------

I know alot of this is common knowledge and i'm sure we have some real pro stars in the group but I need to stress to everyone when writing anything for public view on a website, blog or what not - to write with keyword phrases in mind. Otherwise your dead in the dark.

For those of you who are interested, http://www.nichepartners.com will be hosting our live chats and educational meetings once a week starting in August. Whether to brush up or talk of some ideas from beginner to advanced, this is a great way to do it. We had a great turn-out last year!

In reality any affiliate/partner is competition in itself as we lose on a payout percentage lol. But our company is about building strong relationships with people starting day 1. We have many strong partners we have helped with our initial advice who always promote us :D

munki 07-20-2011 09:25 AM

Files names and detailed targetted alts can get you some great returns...

Agent 488 07-20-2011 09:26 AM

name your image a long random string of numbers like 27364529397468793.jpg in order to trick google.

anexsia 07-20-2011 10:59 AM

I get a lot of traffic to my blogs just from Google Images...I make the image file names very descriptive and always use alt.

I had a tree filled with md5 filenames, and they still ranked well in Google Images. I'd say cover the following bases however:

1. Normal Page related SEO, title tags, description, header tags.
2. Image related tags, alt, title.
3. Text around the actual image or proximity.
4. Descriptive filenames and url paths.
