sandman! 07-24-2011 11:21 AM

i dont think he will go to any team to be a backup.

Caligari 07-24-2011 11:22 AM

completely nuts, the guy could get killed if he goes back.

L-Pink 07-24-2011 11:22 AM

He's like an NFL herpes outbreak.

Harmon 07-24-2011 11:22 AM

He's older than my dead grandfather's ball lint from 1922.

But the Eagles are perfect. A playoff bound team with a mobile quarterback that stands a good chance of being injured late in the year. Farve hates training camp and would gladly sit out the first 10 games if he could run a team thru the playoffs.

A good healthy well rested Farve going into the stretch would be a very tough team. And the Eagles couldn't ask for more from a back-up.

Let's all breathe a sigh of relief:

I saw the headline on Yahoo: "Team interested in Favre: Could Favre return to the NFL?"

As I was clicking the link, I kept thinking, "Please don't be the Eagles. Please don't be the Eagles."

And then the article loaded, titled
"Eagles may want to sign Brett Favre; Vick would be ?honored?."

I literally yelled, "FUCK!"

That's exactly what the first article said:

:Oh crap

sandman! 07-24-2011 11:33 AM

i still dont think his pride will let him do it being a backup.

He's not gonna get killed, lol. Seriously injured? Possibly.

Anyways, this won't happen. If it does, he won't play much if at all. Vick is a tough QB that rarely pulls himself out of a game.

If anyone remembers the Vikings game he ate dirt all night and still tried running the ball when the pocket folded. At the end of the game he could barely walk and he still stayed in. :1orglaugh

What's funny is, Kevin Kolb is an amazing QB, way better than Favre is now.

The Eagles feel they have the next generation QB in Mike Kafka, so they feel Kolb is expendable. If it weren't for Kolb publicly saying he'd rather be somewhere else than be second string, I would want the Eagles to keep him. Of course, I didn't want the Eagles to not resign Jeff Garcia a few years back.

heh yes a bit of hype on that, but favre could easily get mangled permanently.

i'm sure you remember well what the saints did to him in the nfc championship 2010, he was damn lucky to escape intact.

Mutt 07-24-2011 02:21 PM

i wish the Bills would trade for Kolb - idiots, Kolb has already proven he is a solid NFL starting QB and has upside potential where he could be a top 10 starting QB. how many QB's went in the first round of this year's draft - 6 or 7 - half of them will be busts, maybe 2 will become very good. and here you have a guy who is already very good with some starting experience ready to be the #1 guy for some team. Eagles should get back something major for Kolb.

Favre would be pathetic to come back to be a backup - other than being an attention whore I'd like to see him keep coming back and playing. he's still better than half the starting QB's in the NFL.

This has to be for the ratings. Talk shows are going to cover this all Monday morning.

Forget about the lockout.

WebairGerard 07-24-2011 02:34 PM

wow he just can't stay away. if true that would be nuts and could get seriously hurt. he clearly showed his age last season.

seeandsee 07-24-2011 02:58 PM

Brady for the win this season!
