Domain Appraisals?
 

Hello again everyone,

I was just curious what you guys use to check the value of your domain names. Just interested in a legit service (paid or free, whatever works) that wont get you laughed out of a room/chat/thread if you mention it :helpme.

I saw someone in the buy and sell thread linking to http://www.urlappraisal.net and it just sparked my curiosity. I am assuming sedo is the best choice but, since I have never gotten a name appraised, any feedback would be awesome. It would be nice to know a ballpark of what some of my domains may be worth.

These online things are just silly...

Unless you have an established site on the URL and you are selling that, then the bare bones truth of the matter is that a domain is only worth what someone will pay you for it, on any given day :2 cents:

Well thanks for the quick and informative response! To be honest with you, I had asked one of these people who sell domains for a decent buck what their requirements were (age, site on domain, etc) and their response was "A name that will sell". I had a strong feeling the site mentioned above was not legit, but being a newb and all, I let curiosity cloud my judgment.

You see some nice and, in my opinion, not as nice domain names for thousands of dollars and some nice/not as nice for 10 bucks lol. As I don't sell domains for money, it is a confusing process and I only have my own, biased opinion when it comes to my domain name choices.

Just trying to figure it all out.
