i've often wondered about this.

It makes you wonder how many people seeking help are ever really "helped", if they can be "helped", and whether or not they might just be better off keeping that money.

i can imagine how a session goes

therapist: tell me about the horrible event.......

patient: relives horrible story

therapist: your 50 minutes is up, i will see you next week!

Psychology isn't infallible (although the psycologist should appear infallible), it also needs more the help of the patient since some might actually find enjoyment on their distress.

I expect it's the 'time's up. fuck off, got another patient now' element that makes it worser.

+ having to pay for the session at that time...... ouch.
