Is Breaking Bad jumping the shark?
Hopefully I am being too impatient, but a year of anticipation is leading to disappointment. If next week sucks, it may be time to move on.
I don't have a problem with slow episodes, but there at least needs to be some story building. The only storyline building I am seeing is Jesse is going crazy, Marie is going crazy, the brother-in-law is going crazy but might start getting involved again... oh and now they have a car wash. |
Only seen the first two so far but it seems to have lost direction.
|
Such a stupid show can't last that long...
|
Its building up to something grand!

and need to figuire out how to take out the main guy controling their lives |
i think ole walt is going to have to mow down the chicken man
|
I lost interest in it midway through the second season tbh.
|
Hopefully It kicks up a couple notches in the coming 3-4 episodes.
|
The way things are going I could only hope this is the last season.
|
I thought the first season was great, but this one so far is dragging... almost nothing is happening.
it seems that they assumed it would be a two season show and now trying to stretch it out further. in doing so, I think they lost a lot of their audience and probably wont get renewed for another year |
Yeah it has been pretty slow this season. I'm going to start to DVR them and watch them two at a time from now on.

1 year off and the reputation that AMC has for production, people were expecting to be dazzled, so far I am just bored. |
Although things happened in it, the last episode was really boring indeed, hope it will get better, as it was.

You just wanted to announce that you get bored easily? |

Jumping the shark is an idiom, first employed to describe a moment in the evolution of a television show when it begins a decline in quality that is beyond recovery. [ source ] |
I watched the first episode of this season, kinda sucked. OMG so ruthless, whatever.. .
|
To be honest, I prefer this season over all the others. No Walt going nuts and wasting half an episode hunting down a fly in the lab.... No endless doubts about who's gonna kill the drug dealer in the basement... etc
OK, Jesse is having a hard time dealing with what he did, but at least he keeping a clear head in the lab. The go cart scene was only a couple of seconds while they used to stretch that kind of pseudopsychedelic crap over half an episode in the previous seasons. 1 complaint: Skyler could show some cleavage. |

This is how it begins. It was also a question, asking what others thought. Most seem to agree so far, though I'm sure everyone hopes it is just a slow period. |
From a storyline perspective, I find it frustrating that Walt still interfaces with Skylar. This season is not on par with others yet, but I kind of trust the writers to bring it around to something really interesting because they always have in the past.
|
I'm feeling the suspense building up to a big confrontation between Walter and Hank.
It's a great show....I can't think of anything else worth watching. |
Update.
Finally a good episode. |
I just finished season 1 ... Hope it gets better!

I agree. Best one of this season so far, definitely. |

I've been enjoying all of them, I prefer the slow build that would naturally apply in the real world.
Gale on DVD, now that was classic :) |
they jump sharks in every episode
|
|
It seems like it is just spinning its wheels right now but I still like it and I'll give it more time.

I downloaded and watched the first 3 seasons in about a month, and I'd say this season is already shaping up to be better than the last... at least every episode isn't full of the problems between Walt & Skyler.
I personally think Jesse has to go.. Walt wouldn't have the problems he does with Gus if it weren't for Jesse's junkie ass. |

For sure, her moral fiber has deteriorated somewhat lol. |

Mike or maybe a slight twist would be Walt. |
I had read an interview with the guy that developed an runs the show Vince Gilligan and he said he felt like they likely will end the show after next season. If that is true than it would make sense that they are starting to take it in a direction of critical mass. It will be interesting to see how it all works out.
|
Yeah first episodes of this season aren't exactly stellar. Hopefully it will begin to pickup
|
I think Hank will discover what Walt does and then find out it pays for his medical bills and keep quiet. Jesse is getting fucked for skimming weight out of the batches and selling it on the side.
|
I think skyler will continue her massive weight gain and eat the remaining cast members
|
It's all leading up to a showdown between Walter and Gus. Next season the Cartel is coming for Walter.
I'm thinking Gus does something that in turn makes Mike reconsider his loyalty to his boss. |

It's pretty standard for a good show to get stale after the 3rd season :( This season still has stunning cinematography and amazing acting, but I'm starting to wonder about the writing too...
|
it always seems to go bigger, so I'm betting they get involved with a cartel now.
|
I'm seeing this as the last season with the way that last episode went

I wonder if Jesse is gonna get wacked

|
It's a get in and get out business i think. Breaking Bad will never replace my Weeds.
|
