What to do with old servers?
I have 2 servers (2U) that are now retired from Net duty sitting in my office. They still work, but now I have newer machines in service.
What could I do with them - I know they are too old for resell, but they still work. :helpme |

Perhaps see if you can donate them to a school or better yet a charity organization offering skill training to under-priviledged youth?
|
Donate them to a charity organization. They will give you a receipt which you can use as a tax deduction. The tax deduction will be worth more than the price you might sell them for.
You might also want to call any hosting provider in your area and ask if they service any machines, and sell your servers to them for spare parts. |
Sounds like a good example of why your should outsource your infrastructure (shameless plug). :winkwink:
