What I hate about the search on here...
 

Like you have never heard this before, but here we go again...

If I search, and my search terms bring NO results... Why do I need to wait another 90 seconds, before searching slightly altered terms?

I understand it if I get results, but they are not the results I want (My Bad) but when I get no results... Why should I have to wait?

And YES... I DO THINK I AM SPECIAL... (And so did my mom...)

Special as Special Olympics?

Sort of... I am a bit thick to do sport though... Trowing things, running in a straight line etc... All very confusing for me... Dont hate me for it though. I cant help it...

Yeah it sucks, I often go to dear Google and do a: site:gfy.com +keyword

i agree, search time should be lowered, or even cut on cases like that :)

I've thought the 90 sec wait is only to prevent (deliberate) overloading of the server because search function consumes lot of processing power. In that sense it doesn't make any difference whether you got 0 or more results.

It's still an annoying limit.

I was just about to search topics here. But the results didnt have anything to do with what I was searching for. Ugh!

maybe its time for the gfy admins to be considering sphinx for search

What is sphinx?

Yeah it sucks. I usually end up not bothering with it because i get so annoyed...
