New IPhone
Any clue when it's coming?
Thanks, Mitch |
"Oct 1" give or take a few weeks
|
soon.
thanks |
October-ish
Its not that much difference from the current iPhone 4 with the exception of better antenna issues and the upgraded OS 5, as well some added RAM. I haven't seen anywhere that this will have the 4G (4G LTE) network and that Apple released a statement saying they would be incorporating 4G into their phones by late 2012/early 2013... fuck THAT! I just made the switch from the iPhone 4 to the Droid Charge. Ive had the iPhone since day 1 and loved it and up until the 3GS they were ahead of the curve. The iPhone 4 was winning for a few days, but now has fallen quickly behind in terms of technology compared to android based phones. Until they can come out with something that has those features, I'm staying with a Droid... but I do admit, there are a few things I miss about my iPhone :( |
Where is everyone getting their info? What sites? Has Apple said anything regarding the new phone?
|
It's all speculation. There is no information direct from Apple yet
Rumor has it though , originally there was only going to be minor changes from the iPhone 4 but now there is supposed to be significant changes and upgrades. Again, all rumors and speculation. |
Its cuming after Jobs finish it
|
My friend from Rogers here in Canada says around September.
|
hopefully they'll fix that reception issue, it's the only thing that bothers me
|
ummmmmmmmmm this is cool ;)
|
It was meant to be September-ish, but i was informed from someone who works with Apple that it's been delayed to next year because of heating problems or some shit.
We shall see... |
MacRumors is where I look before deciding to buy anything Mac.
|
youre not getting anything till next year...its going to be a 4gs, and its going to have OS5 which is also something that can be upgraded on the current 4g. I believe it will also have a dual core processor and more ram. Android is good on paper, then when you get in a real world situation your battery dies in 3 hours and you have to restart it like its no tomorrow. HTC Eric, Samsung Fascinate, Droid X, and HTC Thunderbolt were all android phones ive had...not one of them worked smooth 100% of the time, laggy, screens would stick then frame...not slick. Thats where the Iphone wins...same in the computer category...function > form
|
No one knows, it's a guess for anyone who gives you any date. My best friend is a manager at apple and that info is never given out before the release date is officially announced
|
I've got a 3GS now, my next one will be a 4 I've watched my mac-addict nephew get the latest and greatest the day new stuff comes out and he's ALWAYS griping about how 'buggy' things end up being, for that I like being behind with apple's stuff lol.

I'm on verizon and a little over a month ago I was able to upgrade. I am waiting to see what the iphone 5 has to offer. The way I see it if the next iphone doesn't have a 3.7" or 4" display I will go with the iphone 4 or Droid X2. It's not worth the wait and the jumping through hoops for a 5 if the display is the same.. 4g.. Where I live I have great 3G but I think there are only 3 or 4 cities in Indiana that have 4g at this time. I can upgrade to 4G next phone when it's available in more cities.
Just saw this today and found it interesting Android is on almost half the world's smartphones |
I just got the iphone 4 do you think they will upgrade mine when the new one comes out?
|
Thanks for all of the info guys.
I love my 3gs and I know many that have buggy droid phones with terrible battery life and will never go there. I also love how the Iphone syncs perfectly with ical, my address book, itunes etc. Nothing beats the synchronicity and functionality IMO. |

Looking forward to the iphone 5 though, hopefully not a disappointment. |

All of the smart phones are pretty much the same these days. |

One of the iPhone5 rumors is that you'll no longer need to tether it to iTunes. That would rock. I'd have to try out other Droid phones, but each one I've had is nowhere near as good as the iPhone. Not one single problem with it and everything works like it's supposed to.
Only interest in Android is over 1/2 the smartphones are using it. Want to see what things look like through those surfers eyes. |
I heard sometime in September. From my source I heard, larger screen, thinner, IOS5 which will have swipe functions to eliminate the need to ever use the home button for anything, higher resolution camera, A5 dual core processor, 1080p recording and 1gb of ram.

Hey there Rochard... long time buddy. Smart phones are all pretty smart. That is about the end of the similarity. Droids don't sync with iTunes, iTunes store nor do they have the app store which IMO blows away the google marketplace. |
Can't wait to see how it is :)
|
Hate the current iphone 4! Love anything apple but the iphone 4 is such a failure. Freezes, reception issues, the list goes on..

I heard something about September too but I believe we'll have to wait a bit longer than that.
|

i heard they announced on for 5 sept in US and after 1 month worldwide
|
iPhone 4 sales are still doing well, I don't think we will see 5 for a little while. They will do 4Gs first and everyone will get the upgraded OS.
I'll put 4Gs in September, and 5 early next year. |
