Someone Hacked Into My NastyDollars Account

I have been wondering where my last few checks were, when I decided to check my ND admin area to make sure my mailing address was correct. That's when I saw that the payment info had been changed from 'CHECK' to 'WIRE' and the wire info was not mine.

This is the INFO I saw:

Wire Routing Number: 026005092
Wire Account Number: 1998801
Wire Bank Name: BMO Bank of Montreal
Wire Bank Address: rutherford rd
Wire Bank State: Ontario
Wire Bank Country Code: Canada
Wire IBAN:
Wire BIC: BOFMCAM2
Wire Misc Info: beneficiary owner name: Costapinto Designs, transit: 36982, institution: 001

It seems Costapinto Designs hacked into the account. Anyone know who it is?

I just sent an email off to accounting at ND and changed everything back in my ND account area to my info as well as changing the password.

What happens in these cases? Will ND be able to recover the money? I don't even know how much was sent to this guy.

Markul 08-05-2011 03:12 PM

I would call the bank, then the police.

Ditto, he's left a pretty good trail.

nickutis 08-05-2011 03:19 PM

I had the same person hacked into my nastydollars account too.
He put the same info as you got here, but I noticed it before any wire were sent, so no harm done.

I've informed nastydollars (they didn't care), and BMO (they didn't care either).

By the way, if you have http://partners.muffia.com , check it too.. If the password is same there, probably will be changed too.

I had started thread about him here too:

https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1024201

His name is "Kostyantyn Kulykov".

Failed 08-05-2011 03:19 PM

Did NastyDollars notify you that your payment method was changed, and that information was changed?

I would definitely contact the police/FBI, the bank, and a lawyer if it was a good amount of money.

You can track down how much was sent to him by going to http://stats.nastydollars.com/member...nt_history.php (confirm by dates when you received the last check so you'll know how much were sent to him).

Chris GAMBA 08-05-2011 03:38 PM

Call his bank, FBI, and RCMP. $0.02.

Actually I would probably talk to ND first. I assume they take fraud seriously and are investigating the issue themselves.

Agent 488 strikes again.

Update:

I just got off ICQ with Robert from ND who was very helpful. I was missing 4 payments and the scammer got one wired to him in June for $665. The next 3 are bigger payments and for some reason are all set to go out this Monday as a wire in one lump sum.

Accounting is closed now but Robert sent them a priority email and I will be calling 1st thing in the morning to halt the payment.

I will now call the bank and see what they say.

I'll keep you all posted and thanks to all who replied.

Also, the scammer changed my email address to his so maybe that's why I didn't get any email confirmation of a payment type change. He did.

timlover 08-05-2011 04:39 PM

always nice to see "payment by epassporte" still in alot of the account information pages I have been visiting the past couple of days as I switch my payout methods from check to paxum.

Update -

With Roberts Help we were able to stop the bulk of my money being wired out to the hacker at the last second. Thanks for all your help Robert!!

I did lose $665 to the hacker which sucks but I am happy to have gotten what I did.

:)

Nope ... they said it was wired to him in June and so I imagine he took it all out and ran ...

WarChild 08-12-2011 08:01 AM

First step is to call your local police and report it. They will give you a file number. Then you approach the bank manager at that branch with that information. This person should be trackable and they have commited Fraud at the very least.

Failed 08-12-2011 08:24 AM

That's fucked up on NastyDollar's part. Nickutis reports the hacker and his information, then the hacker uses the same information on your account and is able to take funds out. What kind of fucked up operation is that? NastyDollars should take responsibility for their lack of concern when it comes to security and reimburse you those funds.

BIGTYMER 08-12-2011 08:27 AM

Damn that fucking sucks! Never use password as your password. :)

Adraco 08-12-2011 08:32 AM

With nastyDollars you have your username in the affiliate link, so that is easy to get by, then it's just about guessing or trying a password and you're good to go!

Horrible security and very bad technique, if you ask me. I really like those encoded NATS links

jollyperv 08-12-2011 08:50 AM

what a piece of shit...I hope they nail his fucking ass to the wall

its not an issue if you use proper passwords. We use different pws for every program we have in our dbase.

Use pws like "HsygRR534AW" and not "123pw"

Last time I called the police was when a Russian hacker hacked into my paypal account. I ended up losing nothing. Then he emailed me to ask for $1000 or else he'd sell my info. I never replied to him.

I took note of all his info like I did above and the police directed me to their 'online fraud dept'. The first question the detective asked was, "What is paypal?" .... end of story.

I did contact the bank and give them all the info and they said they'd look into it .... whatever that means.

Absolutely. I've been doing this forever. At the very least, you have to assume you're giving your password to the owners of the program. It's bad enough I have to trust them to pay me, I'm certainly not going to let them login to every other program I'm in. That's the best case scenario where you DON'T get hacked.

what he said
start using http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html :2 cents:

ND should set up an automated email Confirmation when personal info is edited from the webmaster area

Kenny B! 08-12-2011 01:20 PM

Chances are the bank won't divulge any information without a police report, they are the first people you;ll want to talk to.

So this is a kind of 'happy ending'. Crossing fingers for your $665 as well.

Peace

Matyko

PS: I checked my payment history as well and found some checks that were mailed to a very old address of mine, I know canceling checks costs a lot but anyway, I found some money here :)

That's great to hear! I also just got an email from my ND account manager telling me the same thing. Fantastic.

A couple of people said that ND should send out confirmation emails when payment info is changed. I'm not sure if they do or not but the hacker changed the email address in my account from mine to his so 'he' would have gotten the confirmation email if there was one.

Also, today's DareDorm promo ROCKS!! Best promo I've ever taken part in. Ratio is 1:144 ...

Send me the file you keep the passwords in, so:

A) You have an off-site back up at my house.
B) I'll check the PW's to make sure they're all secure.
C) I won't take much more than a reasonable fee.

V_RocKs 08-13-2011 02:59 AM

Get lastpass and have it make your passwords. They will be jumbled as shit and quite long. Then you only have to remember the lastpass password. Make it long and jumbled as shit...

For instance:

I get on GFY at least once a day

becomes

IgoGFYal1ad

Now you try!

Ohh... and with lastpass you can take your passwords with you... Like if you get on your laptop or your phone... etc...

V_RocKs 08-13-2011 03:03 AM

I just used lastpass to change my ND password... laters!

FeelMyTube 08-13-2011 03:18 AM

sucks, they should just block all payments to that account, as it has happen to more than one person...

also, report it to the bank at least

Yeah, lastpass is nice. Lets just hope nobody hack that service :)

V_RocKs 08-13-2011 03:22 AM

If they do hack it, it will be big news...

I have a google news alert for lastpass so I'd know about it right away...

If someone did hack it, I wouldn't worry too much. I am small potatoes compared to the corporate owners and what not.
