Gathering of hypocrites, anti-gay bigots and jesus freaks draws 30,000 for Gov. Perry

According to estimates, more than 30,000 people packed Reliant Stadium in Houston to take part in Governor Perry?s ?The Response? event. The 7-hour prayer event began at 10:00 a.m. with Rick Perry taking the stage about an hour and a half later. Govrnor Perry spoke for just about 13 minutes, both speaking to the crowd and leading everyone in prayer.

Instead, I suggest Governor Perry should read his Bible:

"And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly I say to you, they have their reward." - Matthew 6:4, from the Sermon On The Mount.

This self-righteous a-hole's event was organized by the American Family Association who are the sworn enemy of our industry, the LGBT movement, non-Christians, and our Freedom of Speech.

Paul Cameron, their founder told the 1985 Conservative Political Action Committee conference that "extermination of homosexuals" might be needed in the next three to four years. He has advocated tattooing AIDS patients in the face, and banishment to a former leper colony for any patient who resisted. He has called for gay bars to be closed and gays to be registered with the government. :disgust

It is very sad that this guy, Gov. "Good Hair" Perry, wants to be your next President.

Yes, I'd say this applies to the AFA in spades...who are designated an official "hate group" by the Southern Law Poverty Center due to their anti-gay rhetoric which includes "propagation of known falsehoods and demonizing propaganda".

i don't know what to think of this.i try and have tolerance re: other's beliefs but reading about the groups that sponsored this event they seem to be homphobic and racist with their agendas.

another thing, i recall hearing a news blip that the # of religious people is increasing. i truly had no idea and assumed that in this day & age, the # of religious people would be decreasing.

Please name one conservative president in the past 40 years that was fiscally conservative. As far as Dick Perry his own state of TX is running a $27 billion deficit and is $38 billion in debt, a number in which HE doubled. Fiscally conservative my ass.

You do realize it's Congress not the President that makes the budget.
