I'm really beginning to love anonymous.

Those are some great news ...

Who cares. Don't put stupid stuff on Facebook and you will be fine. And for that matter, don't do stupid, illegal stuff in life and you will be fine too. Let Big Brother spy all they want is what I say - I have nothing to hide!!!

You cannot ask that their database remove all past information voluntarily
You cannot ensure that your information is not sold to third parties
You cannot ensure that your information is not shared with Government agencies
You cannot be assured that a potential employer cannot get access to your information

Government agencies and governments implement laws so that your private information remains private (Data Protection Act). You can ensure you are Private Directory on your telephone so that no outsiders can contact you without your permission, you cannot do that with Facebook, and what most people do not realise is that the information that is stored on there is not removed even when you think it has been deleted.

Furthermore, many people put information on there that is inappropriate because they are uneducated in the use of computers. So people put their addresses, telephone numbers, photographs, contact details on there and then your security is in the hands of inept programming.

step 2) create a youtube video with computerized voice with strangely written threats asking everyone to UNITE!
step 3) make a twitter account
step 4) send it to all anon related websites
step 5) ???
step 6) profit

Social networks like FB can be used by like-minded folks coming together, to discuss and strengthen their common views and opinions.

In reality, governments should fear social networks much more than the individuals fear the governments.

All depends how you look at it.

Once again, Anonymous is barking up the wrong tree, acting out like the anti-social, basement dwelling, keyboard warrior, douchebags, that they really are.

These guys act like they're one of us, and for the "little guy", but in reality they're a bunch of punks that didn't get enough attention from mommy --- and terrorists basically. When they fucked with Sony, they were fucking with me and 70 million other people also. Who did they actually help?

Sony fucked with their customers first. They removed functions that were the only reason some people bought Sony's PS3. When Geohot hacked the PS3 firmware and posted the hack to restore the functionality that Sony had removed Sony sued the shit out of him.

Shutting down PSN was done in retaliation for suing Geohot. The attack was designed to hurt Sony's profits and remind them that their arrogance was not unnoticed.

Yeah, it's all Facebook's fault! - At least no one else is saving and/or sharing our information.

I would hate to find out that our banks do this, or our ISPs do it, or our credit cards do it, or our utility company does it, or.... oh wait...

Actually, they never would. GFY is probably the polar opposite of censorship and/or selling personal information.

That being said I think FB will be terribly difficult to take down. The amount of servers they have... the bandwidth they have access to... the ddos protection they already have in place... the amount of hack attempts they get on a daily basis...

Should be interesting to watch anyway :P

I think the last big one they did was against the Australian government for making small breasts in adult content illegal. I was totally in support of that one. This one... I'm not so sure. I think Facebook should disclose all of what they do and then it's all personal choice. If I choose to post there... I choose to post there.
