So I'm watching this bottle of Jack Daniels on eBay...

There's about 17 minutes left on this auction and I'm wondering if anybody is going to bump the bids on this bottle. I've seen these easily sell for $225.00 to $250.00. This auction hasn't been viewed much and the seller's rating isn't all that hot so I'm guessing that's scaring people a bit.

If I didn't already have 13 of them, I'd pick it up. :glugglug

No International shipping..it's discrimination against the Canadians yet again

AaronM 08-12-2011 09:54 PM

IF somebody doesn't start bidding this up or snipe it, I'm gonna be a little disappointed.

The Ghost 08-12-2011 09:57 PM

$102.50 and 1 min to go....

AaronM 08-12-2011 09:58 PM

It hurts me to watch this.

AaronM 08-12-2011 09:59 PM

Jesus. That's half the usual selling price. Hell of a steal for that guy.

facialfreak 08-12-2011 11:47 PM

I would never buy off of somebody with 18 rep points/transactions and only 85% is positive?!?!?!?!?!?

Not even after I drank a whole bottle of Jack!!!

WebCashMaker 08-13-2011 02:49 AM

Winning bid: US $122.00

seeandsee 08-13-2011 02:59 AM

V_RocKs 08-13-2011 03:43 AM

LOL

Hey Nurgle, I usually buy a case +1 of whatever the bottle is. 1 to display in my collection and the case to tuck away in a safe place.

At the price that bottle sold for, I would actually consider drinking it.

For resale later or to enjoy later?

Gotta have this shit to sell liquor on eBay I guess.

1) The value of the item is in the collectible container, not its contents.

2) The container has not been opened and any incidental contents are not intended for consumption.

3) The item is not available at any retail outlet, and the container has a value that substantially exceeds the current retail price of the alcohol in the container.

4) The seller will take all appropriate steps to ensure that the buyer is of lawful age in the buyer and seller's jurisdiction (generally 21 years of age).

5) Buyers and sellers both ensure that the sale complies with all applicable laws and shipping regulations.

Depends on how quickly this country continues to disintegrate. My current intention is resale.

John-ACWM 08-13-2011 10:37 AM

I'd start a collection with those, so many interesting bottles :)

I've been collecting JD for about 20 years.

You actually would have been safe bidding on this. The way eBay is now if you pay by Paypal they would put the money on hold in the seller's account for 21 days or until you leave him positive feedback. That way if he fucks you or sends you a damaged item you are protected. They have changed a lot and made it a lot tougher for scammers to fuck you...

I'm not sure what you mean?

I sell high-value items ($3000-5000) on eBay. When the buyer makes the purchase, they pay with PayPal straight to my account and the money is then mine.

However, there is good buyer protection. It's just a slow process, may take up to six weeks to get money back but you will get it back.

Yep. I'm aware. That's why I just bought this one from the same person.

EDIT: I should say I know they have good buyer protection. Was not aware specifically of what you just mentioned though.

You probably have a long, proven history with eBay and Paypal so they release the money to your account right away. I've had an eBay and Paypal account since '99 with 100% positive feedback so it is the same for me. However, if you open a new account, or don't have a lot of positive feedback, Paypal now holds the money in your account for 21 days or until the buyer leaves you positive feedback. They are really starting to tighten it up...

Actually my new account is only six months old. But it's also a business account, maybe that makes a difference.

I have the same bottle that is empty. I can fill it with colored water and sell it to you. :winkwink:

Does it have any connection to an older account that you own? A year or so ago I opened a separate business account for some artwork I was selling on eBay and Etsy, and that is when I found out about the new restrictions for new accounts. They also limited the amount of items I could list until I had a significant amount of feedback. I finally just started selling under my personal account since I didn't want to deal with the restrictions...

I'd probably get drunk one night and forget and end up drinking the colored water... :(

They did limit the amount of items I can list. I bet that it's connected to my personal account though, like you said. That must be it.

Anyway, a 21 day delay would really suck. I do that right now with Amazon. It's not a huge deal because I know I'm protected as the seller, but it really is annoying. I'm always happy with eBay sales because it's instant money.

Think of how cheap it will be to refill it!

$20+ shipping and it's yours. :1orglaugh
