Calling all Canucks
 

So, any other Canucks here? I'm in Vancouver. I'm a Canuck, but not Canucks fan after that last disgraceful Cup run.

I was on west 4th today around 3600 block. I couldn't help but think it'd be a nice place to live, except the pretentiousness in the air was choking me out.

I've never been a hockey fan, and don't plan on it after following last season right until the bitter end. I've always said that playing a sport is infinitely more fun than watching :thumbsup

Yeah, West Side reminds me of the one South Park episode when Kyle's family movies to California where in their smugness, everyone loves the smell of their own farts - eventually leading to a huge smug cloud that sweeps over the US - threatening it. We are in West End, kinda of smuggy, but not so much =)

No kidding, more fun and health out on the field rather in the armchair. With Lions, Canucks, and Whitecraps doing what they are doing, no reason to watch.

Got friends scattered through the Valley. Definitely a change when I visit them from the West End, and vice versa. BTW, what are you selling space for?

They played horribly. Luongo spooks easily, and then allows goals in one after the other. The twins (and others) didn't produce - first line erased. When they won, they won barely. When they lost, they lost big time. Their D won most of the games they won - and their defence was plagued by injuries. Stupid penalties and amateurish mistakes. Not the same team that won the President's Trophy (and led in many other regular season metrics). It's not just winning the cup or getting that close to it, it's about providing fans with good quality playing. No shortage of fans here that agree. The '94 run still stands as the best one.

Yeah, first thing that same to mind when I saw that episode. But, every city has one =)

I miss Kirk. I had more faith in him - in the post season anyways as Loungo was red hot in the 2010-2011 regular season. Linden, Bure, Courtnall, Ronning, Brown... amazing '94 crew!

Calgary nice - I prefer Calgary than Edmonton. A very modern and clean city. Not a big fan of Alberta - tad too Texas-like (not to cut down Texas as I know people in Texas). Mean winters - but get a Chinook, and weather similar to Vancouver.

How the FUCK is one CUP run better than the other except for the fact the the 94 team was unexpected and last years was expected. Only similarity was the idiots that burned the city down. Last I check both teams were 1 win away from THE CUP and just maybe this year BOSTON was the better team... AT THE TIME. Bruins goalie was unbelievable and stole games. Vancouver had skill. Bruins had heart and that hit by ROME changed the series... legal or not. BTW I hope Vancouver NEVER wins a CUP due to all the Olympic divers on that team. Its pathetic

We (wife and self) thought about moving to Montreal. She is French-Canadian (from Ontario), and it is a beautiful city. Real estate in Vancouver is dang near not affordable - average house price over a million.

No fears, we only host riots every 17 years =)
