Is there a way to turn off post tags on wordpress
 

Doing a blog for somebody and they do not want post tags in any of the posts, Is there a way to turn them off.

You can switch it to categories in the settings section, or I usually just rip them out of the template code.

just don't use any tags and don't add tag widget to sidebar

Don't use them or just remove the tag code snippet from theme.

I got an auto video updater plugin on it and it keeps updating the tags every time it updates with new videos and there is no way to turn it off on the plugin. So its best to just rip it out of the plugin I guess
