I always wanted to be in the position of doing exactly what i want, whether that is working or being a lazy lowlife, not have to listen to anyone, being my own boss, doing things just a little different in life, and make some money while doing this...

I think I am on the right track ;-)

camperjohn64 08-16-2011 10:36 AM

I wanted to be a Train Engineer and drive a train - until I saw a simulator that showed how fucking boring it was.

Then I got a Commodore 64 when I was 13, and wanted to make video games for a living. Eventually, I worked my way to one of the top programmers at Sony Computer Entertainment. 25 years of video game development later I finally got bored with that and now I have no idea what I want to do.

Oh oh, when I was 16 I saw a porno and thought "You mean you can do that for a living?". Seriously, I did, and still do want to be a porn actor - I don't even care how many movies I get to do. I have tried it, and tried it, but like most guys, I can't perform "on cue".

camperjohn64 08-16-2011 10:39 AM

Yeah, forget that...

mavruda 08-16-2011 10:49 AM

My career happens to be at the university - PhD, then assistant, lecturer etc., but I've quit - the very low payment, and a marriage - could not mix. I had to be spatial designer and to travel abroad - to make projects for museums, international expositions, boutiques, shops etc... 10 years ago the times were different at my country and possibilities were limited. There was no real choice that would lead to success - people with education were leaving my country to seek the better life abroad - factories, productions were closed, bankrupted and so on... Dark times - the new computers appeared, new programs. I've graduated the university as engineer, and the second graduation came to be within the graphics and advertising. There was no job for the engineers those days, so the only one option was to pick the website designing. That started almost 9 years ago. I stepped into the adult website design by accident and this continues for more than 6 years till now.... and I read one and a same thing since 2007 until now - porn is dead.

Well ... this forum still exist - and there should be enough work and opportunities for all the good professionals an people who choose to follow this path.

Wish you well to all of you .... and Go Fuck Yourself everyone! :thumbsup:pimp

I wanted to become a US Marine. Both my father and my grandfather were US Marines, and I wanted to follow their footsteps. When I was seventeen my mother signed the paperwork, and away I went. No regrets at all - It made me a much better person.

I always wanted to be a filmmaker. Right now I am pursuing that dream studying digital cinematography, while working in any capacity I can on any film I can.

Thankfully, my small city has a nice small film studio and there are a number of independent movies shot hear each year. I've worked on three in the past 4 months alone.

I am going to PA in a few months to get certified with the Steadicam Operators Association. So I will actually be able to get paid to handle the camera.

pornguy 08-16-2011 12:10 PM

I just wanted to have a lot of money.

Worked out so far.

When I was in fourth grade, my parents put a stop to the business I and one of my little friends were planning when we cut up a number of my friend's mom's boyfriend's magazines and glued the pages to construction paper, with the intent of selling our handiwork to classmates.

nikki99 08-16-2011 03:37 PM

As a kid I always wanted to grow old so ...

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 08-16-2011 07:25 PM

http://imagemacros.files.wordpress.c...ripper-lrg.jpg

Well, I started playing string instruments when I was young (guitar, mandolin, ukelele), and I soon decided that I wanted to be a rock and roll star.

My parents had other plans though, which created a lot of tension, plus we moved a lot due to my Dad's work. The other, and main problem, which derailed me was that I cannot seem to compose music, however much I try (I've only written 2 songs in my life, although I can play thousands of songs by heart).

Anyway, I'm happy that I was able to at least have the experience of playing in cover bands for about a decade - a part of my life that I loved and enjoyed immensely, but once I settled into full-time work, my passion for playing the same old songs every weekend to the same old crowds for little more than beer money, ebbed to the point that I took up acoustic guitar, and haven't played onstage in years (I still jam with friends at parties and practice while watching Rachel Maddow on TV and stuff, lol).

I developed an interest in film in college, and even took a few classes in documentary filmmaking. When years later I became involved as a still shooter in the adult biz back in 2000, my interest was rekindled, so I soon started shooting 8mm video, and now (11+ years later) I am living my (adult) dream you could say.

Since I add-in licensed music mixes to many of my videos, being a content producer in adult allows me to play with my musical creativity, as I constantly try to develop my skills in digital media.

I also do a handful of Asian Diva Girls live events each year, which integrate music, modeling, and creative presentations, which helps to keep life interesting.

While I am always trying to accrue new skills, the pace of the work is so demanding, that I need to schedule more time for learning and experimenting in the coming year.

Final note: I am the king of naked air guitar! :stoned

harvey 08-16-2011 07:31 PM

jet pilot (didn't even try), musician (made something but nothing to call momma home), doctor (didn't even try), basketball player (I was good, but too short for pro), writer (tried but failed. Will keep trying though)

theking 08-16-2011 07:39 PM

I did what I wanted to do when I was a child...unfortunately my career was cut short...during Desert Storm.

PiracyPitbull 08-16-2011 07:57 PM

I realized early on that I didn't want to work for someone else.

So I guess I achieved that, with the additional bonus of making good money and with flexible hours.

You can't put a price on waking up to a day where you get to choose the direction.

Actually,

the main form of "leprosy" was believed to be psoriasis. Which is still alive and well.

That is an odd habit of asking people a question and then making fun of them.
