Going away present from last startup

My company closed it's doors yesterday. They were liquidating the computers, and the boss gave me a heavy duty desktop (worth $1600?) for $300. Then he turned to the laptop that they just bought for $1200 4 months ago and said "How about $300 for that too".

$600 for two fairly heavy duty machines, and then on top of that he threw in another 3, dual core, dual CPU servers for free.

5 machines, $600. I think was just bailing out. I took a lower than normal salary because the opportunity sounded good and I think this was his way of making it up and being generous.

I think I would have rather kept my job.

You got great deals though. Better than the nothing most people get.
