If you had under $80k to spend on a car... WHICH would make the cut?

I like futuristic looking cars, out of the box thinking, rounded edges and BIG FAT ASSES!

JamesGw 08-16-2011 11:14 AM

Not a fan of any of those. The M3 sounds nice, though.

MikeFold 08-16-2011 11:21 AM

....but I am biased....(the specialty corvette resale values are solid)

camperjohn64 08-16-2011 11:30 AM

Cars are such a bad investment, but I got stung by my last new car.

I would buy a reliable bland car and pocket the money.

scuba steve 08-16-2011 11:34 AM

Used turbo

BestXXXPorn 08-16-2011 11:44 AM

M3 or GTR would be my choices ;)

X6 from the ones above...

X6 or the FX50. Then again, my last 2 cars were BMW and my current is an Infiniti, so I am biased.

Never heard of anyone "investing" in cars, they are pretty disposable and for usage not for making money unless you are talking antique cars.

From what I saw on TopGear the BMW X6 isn't that great compared to the competitor cars.

I'd get an Audi Q5 for $40 and save the extra $40 :) Or buy a used porsche as well for when I want a small, sporty car.

The new one is fucking disgusting. The older one looks *slightly* better than the 67 GT500 it's based on, which is one of the best looking American cars to ever hit the streets, ever, ever, ever.

For 80k I would get the Eleanor clone built from a 67 fast back, replace the drive-train with one from a newer Shelby GT500, leave the interior as factory as possible, and put the remaining 3k towards part of the first month's gas. Wouldn't want to bastardize a real 67 GT500 to just put a body kit on it.

Or if I had to buy a completely stock car, I'd find a slightly used V8 Ariel Atom (black) and find a darth vader costume.

qwe 08-16-2011 06:06 PM

x5 or cayenne

Minte 08-16-2011 06:26 PM

I have a Panamera and it's too big to be anything beyond a hiway cruiser and it was a lot more than $80. I also have an E55amg which is fantastic. But the new E63 is also way over $80 so that leaves just one choice and that's the C63amg. I have driven one and it's the best car in it's class by a long margin. imo.

V_RocKs 08-17-2011 11:53 AM

I'd buy a jeep and a trailer. Then a Ford truck to pull it. Then I'd go rock climbing with it and live like a real man would.
