Firefox is having a brain fart with flash.

Youtube videos aren't even showing up in some post if I use firefox.
I load any other browser and it's there plain as day.

I played a flash game last night that worked in every browser except firefox.

How do they fuck up flash?????

iwantchixx 08-17-2011 02:56 PM

firefox is getting bloated.

use Palemoon (it's firefox but fixed)

Aside from that, try clearing the flash cache and browser cache?

cooldude7 08-17-2011 03:19 PM

just checked youtube video and clicked fullscrren button.,
i got BSOD and reboot.,

though i am using latest firefox and flash.. sucks . gonna try palemoon

I just updated Seamonkey, which is based on the FF engine, and it's super shitty. Only a couple of minutes after installing It informed me that flash had crashed, and the whole browser itself has crashed a couple of times.

Seamonkey used to be a different fork of Mozilla, it was stable, now it's associated with FF it's turning into a piece of shit...

I hear you all above loud and clear.

Just wish I hadn't got "suckered" into getting used to firefox by it's fan club.

I think it is a move by Google to try and get us to switch to chrome.

AzteK 08-17-2011 04:18 PM

firefox is a heavy piece of junk

I guess its working. I use Opera for business and Chrome for Youtube (and my other entertainment channels).

Opera craps out on me after a couple of hours of Youtube-ing. Using Chrome, I can have random Flash videos running all night. Google has to have optimized Youtube for Chrome.

I know that folks are going to hate me especially those programmer guys but I love Chrome. It works great and is light.

Yes it is true that it does not have the features of FF but I don't have to wait half a day for it to open.

Sorry but call me a rookie

It's not Flash.

Flash works just fine in all other browsers.

This is not anything new however.
Firefox has always had issues with Flash but many of them could be solved
through some creative programming inside flash.

Programmers shouldn't try to fix stuff for firefox anymore because that way surfers will
use a different browser and start to eliminate those that don't work.
The elimination of some browsers would be good for programmers and their
clients.

I mean, when the programmer does a 1 hour programming job he can then
spend two days making it "cross browser compatible". The client is paying out
the ass for this extra work and the programmers are wasting their time because
they don't want to charge for the full time spent on it because it's ridiculous.

realy? Def not solely firefox's fault on the youtube then. I have the latest palemoon installed and the only plugin I have installed on it is "noscript" yet I have zero issues with it under Windows 7 Utimate on a stock onboard intel gma 944..

Flash's latest updates over the last 12 months have been staggerigly unstable on anything non-geforce for installed graphics chipsets. You may need to completely wipe your system clean of everything flash related, reg keys, cache locations, object locations, the prgram itself and any remnants. Uninstall everything palemoon and/or firefoz related, al pref files, all caches, all setting files in the application date roaming and romaing low folders.

Start fresh. I had to do it once when i tried to use chatroulette once. It even destroyed flash's ability to function properly under Opera and IE.

iwantchixx 08-17-2011 10:41 PM

Thats why flash cotainers(seperate processes outside the main browser process) are becoming more used in newer browser realeases. Flash is a dying animal anyways. SIlverlight shows great promise as well as nested elements in html5

I downgraded ff6 to ff5. ff5 is shit too, but in FF6 they removed "view -> view source" from the menu at the top and i kept hitting the "view -> full screen" whicch was now in it's place. It's shit like this that is going to make me switch to another browser as my "main one"

cooldude7 08-18-2011 04:19 AM

okie., i removed all flash instances and also flash cs5 4 , and reinstalled flash.,

now everything is good :D

thanks

They are so desperate to compete with chrome now they make "bombastic"updates almost every months instead every year as they used to do.As a result they will probably lose more users then ever.
