IFFOR Seems to Lacking any "Adult Industry" professionals.

Diane Duke of FSC pointed out in a XBiz article today that the IFFOR Board that is to regulate the .XXX sTLD doesn't have a single adult industry professional on the Board.

She points out that if the .XXX has such industry support, you should be able to find at least one adult industry studio owner, producer, director, talent, webmaster or retailer qualified to serve on the Board.

Not a one..........:disgust

Meet the new sheriffs: they seem to be a bunch of opportunistic lawyers.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

The IFFOR Board is itself illustrating of the lack of industry support for .XXX.

I'm sure they will need the lawyers to justify their existence considering that the mainstream corporations which are faced with defensive registration or paid exemption are likely to send in their counsel. :2 cents:

What do you consider an adult industry professional? A TGP submitter or a designer?

One example could be content producers that also own brands, adult sites and networks. :2 cents:

Distributor/Wholesaler
Adult Products Manufacturer (sex toys, novelty, gear, apparel)
Internet Adult Website or Affiliate Program
Online Content Provider (VOD, PPV, mobile, etc.)
Online Support Services (hosting, billing, Web design, software, etc.)
Online Adult Product Retailer
Adult Product Mail Order Company
Retail Chain/Brick-and-Mortar Store
Home Party Company
Talent Agency
Publicity Agency
Dance Clubs (include number of locations)
Industry Professional (individual only)

Given the list, those who risk their personal freedom and fortune to produce and distribute erotica (including toys) make everyone else's association with the industry possible.:2 cents:

Any of them apply?

Redrob 08-17-2011 08:54 PM

If they did, they weren't chosen, it would indicate a truth.

And, if they didn't apply, it indicates another truth.

baddog 08-17-2011 08:57 PM

Well, I don't know all the people that were chosen, but I have always associated Chad Belville with the adult industry. The fact that he is an attorney should not make a difference except that maybe he is able to read legalese better than a dance club owner.

Redrob 08-17-2011 09:03 PM

This is the "adult" industry, not the "lawyer" industry;

even though, sometimes I wonder.:Oh crap

Lawyers, generally, only play supporting roles as far as I can tell.

I dunno about that. E.G: David Warga of naked news.

If he produces, then he would be a producer.......

baddog 08-17-2011 09:42 PM

I can see you just want to argue for the sake of arguing. I don't.

Not gonna happen. Anyone who signs up will be instantly black listed.

I noticed Nalem shut his mouth finally. He'll never be able to show his face again after taking money from xxx....

Redrob 08-17-2011 09:44 PM

Sorry, Baddog. My apology.

TheDA 08-18-2011 02:48 AM

What about Jerry Barnett too. Does he not qualify?

Wizzo 08-18-2011 03:06 AM

Since I don't plan to use a dot xxx domain why would I care who's policing them?
