rick Perry: seriously, some people will vote for that guy?

"Here your mom was asking about evolution, and you know it's a theory that's out there, and it's got some gaps in it," Perry said. "In Texas, we teach both creationism and evolution in our public schools ? because I figure you're smart enough to figure out which one is right."

Asking 12 years old to pick the one they like the most between creationism and evolution on the basis that they are "smart enough"... right....

a lot of people will vote for him in the primaries. Make no mistake about it what he is saying strikes a deep chord in the hearts of the far social right wing. From what I understand Jon Huntsman shocked everyone when he admitted to believing in *gasp* science

LuckyMax 08-19-2011 06:59 AM

it's actually scary...

J. Falcon 08-19-2011 07:58 AM

It's scary how many fucking ignorant rednecks there are in the US

facialfreak 08-19-2011 08:36 AM

Rick doesn't need your vote ... Bilderberg tapped him already in 2007 ...

Viva the Trans Texas Corridor!!

You got it. His attitude is also what people want at this point. Someone that would take CHARGE and make changes. Granted his views are as you mentioned above.

He will get elected if lazy-assed Democrats stay home and don't drag their asses to the polls. That's how the current crop of shit heels got in. Democrats stayed home and got the government they fucking deserved. Don't want assholes in the government? Go fucking vote!

It's Parry with an A... for America, and iowA :)

Unless something major happens like some scandal etc, I suspect he'll become the republican nominee... US politics is just so fucked up.

JamesGw 08-19-2011 11:15 AM

Ethically, I don't see much wrong teaching children about religion in school. Granted, we shouldn't be trying to indoctrinate them, and it definitely shouldn't be taught as a scientific alternative to evolution, but it's still a good thing to know about culturally.

Constitutionally, I don't think it should be allowed in public schools.

I'm atheist-agnostic, btw. That said, religion is one of my favorite studies.

True. The tone of the electioneering has little to do with the beliefs or knowledge of the candidates. It's to play to the crowd.

Proof and evidence of evolution is something we see every single day and probably many times a day.

Just one example. Two of our neighbors have these type dogs.

http://paulmarkham.com/temp/wolfdog2.jpg

They're natural wolves, called a Czech Wolfdog.

This is what man has bred from the wolf.

That's evolution in work, helped by man to speed it up. Proves Darwin's theories over and over again. Unless you go out and shoot your dinner, the food on your plate also proves how evolution works.

Yet the morons still think this guy god had a hand in it.

They should read "Where God Went Wrong"' "God's Biggest Mistakes" and "Who Is This God-Person, Anyway?"

They're on the latest copy of Hitch hikers Guide to the Galaxy. :1orglaugh

Don't be fooled its all an act to get elected, he is a left wing neocon. He was chair for Al Gore in 1988, he is only a republican to get elected.

BFT3K 08-19-2011 02:37 PM

He'll lose to Obama just as well as any of the other Republitards will.

More power to him!
