I'm wondering how much youporn.com was bought for - seems to be undisclosed. Anyone know?

a lot of people seem to think $20-30 mill but for a site that ranks 81 in the world as the most visited site i bet it sold for more

No, you will not get anywhere near that much for your tube.

I was thinking maybe they didn't disclose it as it shows the true state of running tube sites - the margins must be tight with 3 terrabytes of bandwidth each day and only 12% US!

Interesting struggle for monetisation and tube sites are getting creative about it - yuvutu now has subscription charges and the free service is throttled by time between queries and bandwidth-IP allocation. I remember we built a dating site for youporn a while back when they were at 93 million vists per month but the traffic was poor quality and a healthy chunk coming from playstation!!

Whereas Xhamster has an affiliate system paying $2 per 1000 uniques - they've overtaken youporn in popularity so doing something right..

There was a big story a few years ago where they tracked down the owners of the site and they were talking about how they wanted to sell it then, but couldn't find a buyer so I get the feeling it has been for sale for a long time. I have a feeling it likely didn't sell for as much as some people might think.
