Did you guys read this Yahoo News article published a few weeks ago? This shit fucking blows my mind.

This is the kind of thing you can do with stem cell therapy. The same stuff George W. was throwing a fit about.

I'd be quite happy living until I'm 800. But think about exponential increase in chances you'll get killed in some completely fucked up accident... ran over by a bus, killed in a plane crash, etc.

I guess I should probably quit drinking if I want to make it until we have the technology. :)

I don't see any new development there, just opinion from somebody who has a vested interest in receiving funding.

So my daughter could live to be 1,000 ?? I don't think so.

the problem is that the same gene manipulation that can stop aging is like fertilizer for cancer cells..

almost every human being has cancer cells in their body. in most people they just lie dormant, but when altering the genes that stop aging it seems that the cancer cells are turned on..

i saw a documentary that said if they can figure out how to turn off those cancer cells, the sky is the limit to how long humans can extend their life..
