Duct Tape.............

Explain to me how in a hurricane with like 75 mph winds throwing shit around at your windows that duct tape is gonna save it from breaking? :helpme:helpme

Was at home depot before and people were gobbling it up like it was gold...

BTW i bought alot of batteries for my dildos and flashlights :thumbsup

By placing it all over the windows, it is supposedly going to make plate glass act like safety glass. Under pressure, and breaking it would have a better chance to stay in one piece rather than explode into a million eye slicing pieces.

In theory for plate glass yes... but most of em think it will keep the windows plate glass or not from breakin..

The power to believe ...

ottopottomouse 08-27-2011 10:46 AM

When it breaks you won't end up with a big gaping hole just cracked glass.

Duct tape also protects from anthrax, radiation, and other terrorist attacks.

Truly a remarkable tool.

rogueteens 08-27-2011 10:53 AM

it the same as you saw during the second world war with the windows covered with sticky paper, its to stop glass flying all over the place.

Well Mythbusters cut up a car in several peices and tape it back up with duct tape and it actualy ran at over 40 MPH

less to clean up when you emerge alive from your basement. (or whereever you're waiting out that storm/catastrophe)

shimmy2 08-27-2011 11:36 AM

at track events they would have us put painters tape over our headlights so in the event of racing bumps there wouldn't be glass all over the track. same theory applies for the duct tape on windows I assume

Contrary to popular belief (and a frantic rise in the sales of these items before a hurricane hits), taping a home's windows with masking or duct tape does nothing to protect them. The windows will still break, with the tape doing nothing to impede the process. It's questionable that either sealant will even keep broken glass from dispersing, says the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH).

It's still damn useful stuff, as any Red Green fan will know.

baddog 08-27-2011 01:56 PM

It will not keep the windows from breaking, but it should cut down on the shards of glass flying around.

Wizzo 08-27-2011 02:27 PM

I'm surprised you didn't stock up Juicy? It has many uses... :winkwink:

Tape around the windows and door jams.. then when the hurricane gets there everything will explode... fucking awesome!

I used duct tape to splint my pinky to my ring finger after a basketball game. Who needs a doctor?
