Is Google experimenting with swapping out .com domains when an equivalent .xxx exists?
Google
ifriends Come back and post here what you see please. I got ifriends.xxx as the number 1 result. Note: There is no Google cache of friends.xxx. Lots of domain ages, authorities, inbound links, and lots of other scoring variables exist on the rest of those results on page 1. It appears that all of that is being disregarded at the moment. Why is the question. Will be interesting to see if this is just Google adding the extension to their index, or if there is more to it. yup. time to grab some xxx domains i guess.

ifriends.xxx is #1
That would just be fantastic if they gave .xxx priority over .com. |

shows up as #2 here.. I get ifriends.com as #1

ICM Registry Announces Launch of iFriends.xxx, First High-Profile .XXX Site PALM BEACH, Fla., Aug. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ICM Registry, the company behind the .XXX top level domain (TLD), today announces the launch of ifriends.xxx, the first high-profile site to launch in the .XXX space. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20110818/FL54629LOGO ) iFriends, the internet's first large-scale adult webcam network, has been the template for virtually all other adult webcam sites. Since its inception in 1998, iFriends has introduced numerous innovations such as Cam2Cam, HD video, and 3D video streaming technology, all things that today are taken for granted in the online adult space. "We are proud to be part of the Founders Program and are enthusiastic about the opportunities that working with ICM Registry presents for us and our affiliates," says Stacy Psaros, WebPower's spokesperson. "Our company's culture is one of innovation and forward-thinking business practices. We recognized these same qualities in ICM Registry and the .XXX space. ifriends.xxx is just the first of a number of prominent domains that we look forward to launching." "WebPower's vision of the adult marketplace and their way of detecting and developing new opportunities such as .XXX are remarkable," says Vaughn Liley of ICM Registry. "Their participation in the Founders program is particularly valuable given their long history and prominence in the adult industry. The launch of these sites clearly demonstrates our goal of making .XXX a vibrant and content-rich domain." The iFriends adult webcam network is operated by WebPower, Inc. WebPower also operates the ClickCash affiliate marketing program, one of the oldest and largest adult affiliate programs. ICM Registry is now focused on the launch that starts on September 7 with the opening of the Sunrise period. For more information, please visit about.xxx |
Google sees me as an iFriends.com person
Scroogle says IFriends.com is top and .xxx second |
ifriends.net came up first for me.
Maybe someone is paying some money for those results. |

There are many other industries that have their own extensions. When you look for cheap cruises, you don't get cheapcruises.travel, you get all .coms When you look for airlines, you don't get airlines.aero, you get all .coms When you look for jobs, you don't get jobs.jobs, you get all .coms However, When you look for US Army, you do get Army.mil When you look for Stanford University, you do get Standford.edu When you look for Red Cross, you get RedCross.org It appears to me that when the search connects the user to a commercial entity, .com still rules the planet. In every case, when I search for something that is education, government, or non profit organizations, you will get the specialty extension, .mil, .edu, .org. .XXX is a for profit, commercial extension. That's pretty clear. My :2 cents: anyhow. |

ifriends.xxx nr 1
ifriends.net nr 2 |
Maybe Xbiz or AVN should reach out to Google and see if they can get a comment?
Chances are that's a waste of a phone call, but ehhhh, what the hell. |

I don't even see an ifriends.com The first organic result is .xxx. There is a paid .net above it.

Maybe they used google webmaster tools to change domains?
|
|
This isn't necessarily done by google.
With the right headers and redirects for googlebots, ifriends.com could make google show .xxx instead. Perhaps it's part of ICM's strategy. Force this domain to get ranked before the .com, so that people see it, and thing .xxx has an advantage in the serps |

Went in using a different browser and logged into G. Still do not see the .com unless I search for the .com.
Their paid ad does not go to the .xxx |
I do not like what google does. Because I do not like .xxx domains.

if so it is interesting they are going to favor the .xxx instead if the .com |
ifriends.xxx is #1 here.

I don't know, but I think a double standard is being applied here. If I has pointed this out, the idiots would have suggested that I am only pointing this out as some form of advertising for ICM.
seeric does, and the thought never crosses your collective minds? |
It will all come out in the end baddog.

Seems like a manipulation of the market to create perceived added value to the .xxx extension.
Two weeks after Ifriends.xxx launches it magically appears as the #1 result with no explanation On a Wednesday night to build the buzz Thursday & Friday :winkwink: |
no mystery.. they added it as default domain in gwt
|
I wonder what the incentive was for ifriends.
|
If u are logged into your google account it is probably giving only u that result.
